*Updates on the first Lady courtesy call meeting.*
The Chairman and Auditor General of the Network Against Irregular Migration (NETAIM) held a key discussion with the Office of the First Lady of The Gambia to explore potential partnerships and support for the organization’s initiatives.
Meeting Highlights:
*Introduction of NETAIM's Mission:* The Chairman provided an overview of NETAIM's efforts to combat irregular migration, emphasizing the need to create awareness, provide support to returnees, and implement preventive measures within communities.
*Challenges in Resource Mobilization:* The discussion highlighted the challenges NETAIM faces in securing consistent funding for its activities. The First Lady acknowledged these concerns and shared potential solutions to improve the organization’s financial standing.
*Registration with National Youth Council (NYC):* The First Lady recommended that NETAIM formalize its registration with the National Youth Council (NYC) to unlock further opportunities for collaboration and government support. She expressed her willingness to connect NETAIM with relevant authorities, including the Minister of Youth and Sports, for further engagements.
*Engagement with Private Sector:* The First Lady encouraged the organization to draft a comprehensive proposal targeting GSM companies such as Africell, outlining potential areas of collaboration. These companies could provide financial or in-kind sponsorship to support NETAIM's projects.
*Target Audience and Outreach Strategy:* It was recommended that NETAIM focus its educational campaigns on high schools, youth groups, and parents. The First Lady stressed the importance of engaging these key demographics to enhance the impact of NETAIM’s preventive programs.
