THE WALK IS COMING!
But before we hit the streets on 31 October, there’s a little work happening behind the scenes!
First stop: prayer.
Our Bible Society of The Gambia team visited the stadium where the Mary Jones Walk will take place and prayed over the event, the people who will attend and the impact we’re believing God for.

Then came the planning!
The Mary Jones Walk committee got together to put the plans in motion because… you know what they say: big things don’t plan themselves!

Now we want to hear from YOU!
Who are you bringing to the walk?
Your best friend?
Your family?
Your church squad?
Your whole crew?
Tag them below and start making plans!

Paul knew hardship firsthand. Instead, it invites us to see pain as part of a bigger story that doesn’t end with loss or suffering. Christian hope isn’t about denying pain but believing it doesn’t have the final word.

Paul asked God three times to take away a painful struggle. God didn’t remove it but gave him enough strength to endure. This shows that true strength isn’t the absence of struggle, but grace working through it. For those feeling tired or broken, this verse reminds us that God’s power doesn’t depend on our strength.

This verse comes from a psalm written by someone in real danger and pain. It shows tears so important that God remembers each one. Grief isn’t ignored or forgotten by God. Every tear is seen and counted as a comforting thought for anyone who’s cried alone, wondering if it mattered.

A common fear in hard times is that suffering is a punishment from God. But Scripture rejects this. In John 9, when asked if a man’s blindness was due to sin, Jesus denies the idea and focuses on the good that can still come from the situation.

One powerful claim of Christianity is that God doesn’t watch suffering from afar. In Jesus, God experienced grief, betrayal, pain, and death. So when someone prays in pain, they’re praying to a God who truly understands because He has felt it too.

This verse doesn’t say the valley goes away or the shadow is stopped. It says God walks through it with us, not for us. Faith in hard times isn’t believing we won’t face trouble, it’s trusting we’re not alone in it.

Many people ask in their hardest moments, “Where is God right now?” This question comes from pain, not curiosity after loss, bad news, or struggles when faith feels distant.

This verse doesn’t say God is near those who are strong or in control. It says He is close to the brokenhearted and those struggling. In a culture that sees strength as avoiding pain, the Bible shows the opposite: God draws near during times of grief. Brokenness doesn’t push God away; it’s often where His presence feels strongest.
