What does €7,045 buy? In The Gambia, it buys a future for climate education and a more sustainable Earth🌍
I am incredibly moved to share that the staff at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht) have donated €7,045 as part of their end of year gift to Green-World Activists , facilitated by the Stichting Kameroen werkt and the The Tree Party
This isn't just a donation; it’s a foundation, literally. This funding will be used to purchase a piece of land that will serve three critical purposes: 🌱 A permanent tree nursery for reforestation efforts. 🔬 A research center for local climate solutions using permaculture techniques, and education center to model climate advocacy for the next generation.
Coming right as we celebrate , this gesture from the HU community is a powerful reminder that climate action knows no borders.
A massive thank you to every staff member who contributed. You aren’t just planting trees; you are planting the seeds of knowledge and resilience.

Could this technology save The Gambia’s green corridors? 🇬🇲🌳
In recent years, road construction across The Gambia from the expansion of the Bertil Harding Highway to rural infrastructure projects, has come at a heavy environmental cost. Thousands of mature trees, some decades old, have been felled to make way for asphalt.
While infrastructure is vital for our economy, we are losing our natural air conditioning and biodiversity in the process. But it doesn’t have to be an either/ or choice.
Tree Relocation Technology offers a third way, Instead of cutting down a 40-year-old mahogany or mango tree, we can move it.
Relocated trees provide immediate shade and dust control for new roads, unlike saplings which take years to mature.
Using heavy-lift cranes and specialized root-ball preservation, we can integrate nature into modern urban planning.
It’s time we look at trees not as obstacles to construction, but as valuable assets worth moving. With the right investment in technology like this, we can build the World Class roads we deserves without sacrificing our green soul.

In October 2024 we embarked on a journey with 3 other projectpartners to reach out to- and to involve youth in solving the issue of greenwashing. KA210 Guardians of Truth- Empowering youth against greenwashing. An Erasmus+ project.

So our sneaky deal was to ask all our projectpartners to also engage in tree planting as a crown to our common work.

After detecting the evils of false green marketing, offsetting, greenwashing we wanted to end with something positive! Stop overconsuming, connect with nature. Leave the world better than you found it (regenerative, not only sustainable)

LIttle did we know that team Impactgrid, Germany would do SO WELL!!!!!

We are thrilled to share an inspiring update from our Green Generation Program, an initiative dedicated to fostering environmental education, climate change awareness, and sustainable practices among young minds.This program embodies our commitment to "Shaping Tomorrow's Environmental Leaders," and the enthusiasm of these students truly showcases the bright future ahead. Today, we visited Kunkujang Upper Basic School.

Climate change is not a distant threat. It is a current reality. By engaging with the vibrant students, we focused on environmental education and sustainability, empowering them to see themselves not just as students but as guardians of their local ecosystem.

​The energy from the stidents is a testament to what happens when we invest in youth. These are the faces of the "Green Generation," the leaders who will design the sustainable cities,eco-friendly policies, and systems of tomorrow.

Today, at Brufut Upper and Senior Secondary Schools, Green World Activists Foundation-The Gambia, as part of our , trained students on climate change, sustainability (mitigation and adaptation and Environmental Advocacy). This isn't just another educational initiative. It is a leadership incubator, the World Doesn’t Just Need More Students; It Needs More Change Makers.
We are facing a climate reality that requires more than just "awareness." It requires action, advocacy, and audacity.
Building the Toolkit for Transformation
Our training goes beyond the textbook. We are equipping these students to be the primary Agents of change in their communities through: Strategic Climate Leadership,Advocacy & Public speaking, community mobilization, Critical Problem Solving
