WFD begins a simulating exercise of the national assembly setting for aspiring women candidates funded by the British high commission in the Gambia for the upcoming elections on parliamentary processes, and procedures to raise their confidence to take up leadership in governance across the board. Happening now at the SDKJ Conference Centre, Bijilo 🇬🇲
WFD–The Gambia, with support from the British High Commission the Gambia, is hosting a National Assembly simulation exercise for aspiring women candidates from all 53 constituencies across political parties.

Set in a parliamentary setting under the theme Women in Parliament, the exercise focuses on advancing the Charter for the Rights and Dignity of Women, Girls, and Women Living with Disabilities, while creating space for dialogue and mentorship between aspiring candidates and sitting female National Assembly Members.

WFD Gambia office ended the week with an engagement with the Gender Committee, CSO and people living disabilities discussing inclusion of women in politics and leadership.
