ring of the FGM constitutional case was held before the supreme court today.

The court closed the plaintiff's case and directed the defendants which includes GAMCOTRAP to begin presenting their evidence. The first defense witness is scheduled to testify on the 8th of July, 2026, marking a key procedural milestone.

Today at the High Court of The Gambia, GAMCOTRAP stood firm.

The organization appeared as a defendant in the ongoing FGM case, represented by Lawyer Lamin K. Mboge of Mari bantang Chambers, to defend the law that protects women and girls.

This case is about justice, dignity, and human rights. We remain committed to ensuring that the anti-FGM law is upheld and that girls in The Gambia are protected from harmful practices.
