🎉 It’s a Wrap!

We have successfully concluded our two-day Cybersecurity Bootcamp, bringing together passionate learners for an engaging and practical learning experience.

Over the course of the two-day bootcamp, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of cybersecurity, digital safety, password security, social engineering, and the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in today’s cyber landscape. They also gained hands-on experience navigating Capture the Flag (CTF) platforms, working with machine IP addresses, and applying practical cybersecurity techniques in simulated environments.

This bootcamp marks another step towards building a resilient and cyber-aware community equipped with the knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.

A heartfelt thank you to all our participants for their enthusiasm and commitment, our facilitators for sharing their expertise, and the Africell Gambia Ltd through the Africell Impact Foundation for hosting the training.

Together, we are strengthening cybersecurity capacity one learner at a time.

We have officially kicked off our two-day Cybersecurity Bootcamp at the Africell Impact Foundation in Fajara.

This intensive training is designed to equip our members with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills needed to navigate today’s evolving cybersecurity landscape. Participants will gain hands-on experience in key areas such as cyber threats, digital safety, password security, online privacy, incident response, and cybersecurity best practices.

In his opening remarks, President Jawara highlighted the need for capacity building and growth in the cybersecurity ecosystem in The Gambia. “ Classroom lectures and formal education provide you with a strong foundation, the right perspective, and a solid understanding of cybersecurity concepts. However, developing real-world skills requires continuous learning, practical experience, collaboration with peers, and active participation in professional communities such as GamCon”. He said.

Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, we are empowering the next generation of cybersecurity professionals with the skills and confidence to build a safer digital future.

Last week, our team participated in a five-day Capacity Building Workshop on Mobilizing Support, organized by CASA Gambia in partnership with Change the Game Academy.

The training focused on key areas including stakeholder engagement, partnership development, resource mobilization, and organizational sustainability—equipping our officers with practical knowledge and strategies to strengthen our impact and enhance our work with communities and partners.

At GamCon InfoSec Community, we remain committed to continuous learning and institutional growth to better serve our mission.

The session formed part of the 16 Days of Activism and highlighted the growing need to protect young women as they navigate online spaces.

Today, we join the global call to end violence against women, both offline and online.

At GamCon, we see every day how digital spaces can be misused to harass, stalk, hack or silence women. Digital violence is real, and it affects safety, dignity and freedom.

We remain committed to building a safer online environment through awareness, stronger digital safety practices and community support. No woman should fear logging in, sharing her voice or simply being herself online.
