Jakpa Digital Academy Empowers Dressmakers in Yapei!

We recently hosted a hands-on training for dressmakers in Yapei, showing them how to thrive in today’s digital world.

💡 Participants learned:

* The power of social media for growing their businesses
* How to set up a business TikTok account and post their first content
* Creative content ideas, including using AI to showcase models wearing their designs

It was an inspiring and impactful session, equipping local dressmakers with the tools to take their craft online and reach more customers than ever!

We are excited to share that Jakpa Digital Academy has partnered with , the leading tech and innovation hub in the Savannah Region, to facilitate the Government’s Adwumawura Entrepreneurship Programme in Yapei.
This partnership strengthens our commitment to building a generation of skilled, confident and economically empowered youth in Rural Ghana, starting from Yapei.

This year has been a journey of steady and meaningful progress:

• We hosted our first-ever event, the Yapei Career Fair 2025, bringing young people together to explore career paths and opportunities in the digital economy.
• We launched our Content Creation with Smartphones Workshop, helping beginners create digital content and tell their own stories.
• And now, we are stepping into entrepreneurship development and youth economic empowerment at a regional level.

But this is just the beginning.

Our goal is to build a scalable digital training ecosystem that equips thousands of young people with relevant skills for work, business, and the future.

We are now open to partnerships, sponsorships and investment from individuals, organizations and institutions that believe in:

Over the weekend, Jakpa Digital Academy (JDA) organized its first free practical digital skills program at the Yapei community center, following our maiden career fair program. The event recorded a remarkable attendance rate, with teachers, nurses, and mainly students in attendance. Our training focused on content creation, specifically how to create content with smartphones, its benefits, and simple video editing. Participants were taken through basic features that aid simple video editing and how to generate good content. After a series of practical tutorials, participants were asked to take a simple video of anything, such as interviewing a colleague or capturing their surroundings, and implement what they'd learned. A good number of them were able to complete the task with ease, while others stumbled slightly but sailed through with a little guidance. The training was fun, and we acknowledged the enthusiasm to learn and build on the knowledge acquired. This training marks the beginning of a great tech future in the Savannah region and rural communities in Ghana as a whole. Lastly, we'd like to appreciate everyone who made this program a success, from the organizers to the unknown financiers and the participants. Thank you! Stay tuned! A new digital skills beginning has dawned.
