DISBURSEMENT OF SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS TO BRILLIANT BUT NEEDY STUDENTS

On Friday, November 15, 2024, Mamprugu Zaabuni Youth for Development successfully disbursed monies meant for admission fees to a total of four (4) brilliant but need students in Mamprugu.

They were made up of two(2) medical students, one(1) engineering student and one (1) ICT student. The occasion took place at the Regional Coordinating council mini conference hall in Nalerigu the regional capital for the northeast region.

The Zaabuni Scholarship Fund is now fully operational.

This is a novelty. I thank the committee headed by our venerable Prof. Abubakari Abdulai which is in charge of this fund for a great job done.

We wish to also thank the Hon. Regional Minister for the North East Region for spending time with us in the face of his very tight schedules.

Leadership of Mamprugu Zaabuni Youth for Dev't has donated an amount of GHC5,000 towards the surgery of one of the victims of the recent Walewale robbery incident.

Due to the urgent nature of the incident, leadership of the association decided to make this donation to support the treatment of the victim for the meantime while it continues to make frantic efforts to ensure his total recovery.

The decision was taken at an emergency executive committee meeting held on Friday, February 23.

While we wish the victim a speedy recovery, we reiterate our commitment to work closely with the relevant stakeholders to help nip the incessant robbery attacks in the municipality in the bud.

Mamprugu Zaabuni Youth for Development wishes to invite all sons and daughters of Mamprugu to its first annual congress which is slated for Saturday, January 7, 2024.

Venue: Walewale Astro turf(Sports stadium)

Time: 9 am prompt

Theme: "Rekindling the Glory of Mamprugu; Our Collective Responsibility".

The Guest of Honour will be the Vice President, H.E Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia whilst the Special Guest of Honour will be the Overlord of Mamprugu Kingdom, the Nayiri, Mahami Abdulai Sheriga.

Other dignitaries expected to grace the occasion are; Ministers of state, Members of Parliament, Municipal and District Chief Executives, Chiefs, academia among others.

Also, there will be a football game on Friday ( 6th January 2024) at the Walewale Sports Stadium.

Come all, lets network, reflect and share ideas on how to rekindle the glory of mamprugu.
