Give Me Tap is here again

ProNet North, together with Give Me Tap, is embarking on another drilling project to provide clean water for underprivileged communities, reinforcing our commitment to the sustainable development goals.

100 boreholes are being drilled in health facilities and basic schools in communities across the Upper West Region of Ghana.
Access to clean water is a fundamental human right. This project will:

1. Improve health outcomes by reducing waterborne diseases
2. Enhance livelihoods by saving time and effort spent on fetching water from long distances
3. Support local development and economic growth
4. Enhance learning among students

From Farms to Pots

This is not new because we have been consistent with this approach from the outset. Our goal is an impact that endures beyond the life of the project.

Throughout the project, annual trainings are organized to strengthen women’s capacity in food utilization and nutrition.

Women are trained through practical processes on how to transform the crops they cultivate under the project, such as groundnuts and soya beans, into nutritious meals like soybean kebabs, tuo zaafi, Tom Brown, and koose.

Through these value-addition activities, some women are now earning daily incomes from the sale of these processed foods.

The initiative aims to promote nutrition-conscious eating by encouraging women to incorporate groundnuts and soybeans into their daily diets. While farming and selling raw produce remain important, eating healthy from what is grown is equally essential. As the saying goes, we grow what we eat, and we eat what we grow.

Together with our partners and , we are not only promoting sustainable farming practices and energy-saving methods but also creating income-generating opportunities that empower women.

As we mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, ProNet North reaffirms its commitment to creating a society free from violence and discrimination.
Earlier this year, with support from Oxfam, we launched the Upper West Domestic Violence Fund with the Regional Coordinating Council. The initiative is dedicated to ending gender-based violence and providing support to survivors.

Let's work together to End Violence Against Women and create a safer, more equitable society for all.

ProNet North was honored to participate in the 36th MOLE Conference on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), a gathering dedicated to advancing innovation, strengthening partnerships, addressing the persistent challenges to safe water, and promoting evidence-based approaches for harmonized and regulated WASH services.

Together with local and international partners, government agencies, and research institutions, the conference focused on several key highlights:

Climate-Resilient WASH: Integrating climate risk assessments into district development plans to ensure sustainable water and sanitation services that can withstand changing environmental conditions.

Innovative Tools: Developing cutting-edge programs to transform WASH behavior change, especially in remote and underserved communities.

Menstrual Health: Encouraging government and CSOs to reduce stigma through targeted sensitization, improve access by expanding free distribution of sanitary pads, intensify efforts to end period poverty, and upgrade school facilities to better serve adolescent girls.

WASH in Schools: Addressing the unique challenges students face in accessing safe water, sanitation, and hygiene services, and ensuring that WASH systems in educational institutions support healthy learning environments.

Collaboration: Reinforcing the importance of strong partnerships between government, CSOs, and communities as a foundation for scaling solutions and achieving SDG 6.

Financing for WASH: Unlocking innovative financing mechanisms to expand and sustain impactful WASH interventions.

Action for Impact: Encouraging stakeholders to translate commitments into tangible actions that create lasting change in communities.

ProNet North remains committed to building a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable WASH system that leaves no one behind.

Together, we can build a healthier and more equitable future for all.
