WHAT IS IT ABOUT? Rescue Ghana Mission is a fully registered charity organization. It was founded to provide welfare Support for rural preachers and the needy in society. The organization’s key objective is to provide financial support for rural preachers whose monthly earnings are very low and to support widows and orphan
s who are going through serious life challenges. OUR MISSION
Is to create a pool of fund that will support church of Christ rural and retired preachers with monthly allowances and provide them with social security and retirement benefits. The fund will also support Widows and Orphans/ Village of Hope, including non-members of the Church. OUR VISION
Is to create a functional Welfare Support Fund for the Church of Christ in Ghana to take care of the needy and promote evangelism activities. The brain behind Rescue Ghana Mission is to provide a functional and holistic approach to addressing the social support needs of the Church of Christ in Ghana, nationally; through a well coordinated and systematic approach. KEY OBJECTIVES
To support rural and Retired Preachers with monthly allowances and provide them with social security. To provide financial support for Orphans and Widows and the needy within and outside the church. To support outreach programs such as Rural and Hospital Evangelism. WHO BENEFITS FROM THE FUND? RURAL PREACHERS: The main focus of this fund is to support rural preachers whose salaries fall below the national minimum wage and further provide them with social security/ retirement benefits. RETIRED PREACHERS: Monthly allowances will paid to rural preachers have retired from active service. ORPHANS AND WIDOWS: Widows and Orphans with genuine financial difficulties (wives of deceased preachers will be considered first) from rural communities will be supported from the fund. Specifically, the fund will give educational scholarships, seed capital for widows to start SME business including paying their Medical bills. NON-MEMBERS: The fund shall also support non-members of Church of Christ, particularly persons with disabilities by donating to them anything that will ease their plight, including paying their medical bills. EVANGELISM ACTIVITIES: The fund will also sponsor mass media ( Radio, TV, Social Media) evangelism including rural and hospital evangelism. ADMINISTRATION OF THE FUND
The scheme shall adopt a comprehensive policy on the criteria for application, evaluation and disbursement of the fund. Applications shall be done online or direct submission after downloading and completing the form. Every application shall go through a thorough assessment process and shall be considered base on merit and availability of funds. All applications shall be approved by the Evaluation and Assessment Committee. Beneficiary preachers shall be enrolled on the scheme and shall receive a monthly top up allowance paid directly into their bank accounts. The amount/allowance shall be determined by the Board of Trustees and it is subject to review. The funds shall be equitable disbursement of the fund to beneficiaries to ensure regional balance. The eleven member Board of Trustees shall comprise a representative for each regions of Ghana and a female member. They shall be persons who have benevolent-spirit, experienced, knowledgeable, hold leadership positions in their churches, well known and respected; and have influence in their regions. The Board of Trustees shall be responsible for ensuring prudent management of the fund, fashion out plan for the organization and advise on critical decisions. There will be three signatories to the account, they include Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Assessment and Evaluation Committee and Executive Director of the organization. Rescue Mission Ghana is here to stay to solve a huge problem of poor remuneration of preachers working in deprived rural communities. As founders of this organization, we are determined to work assiduously to achieve our mission and vision by the grace of God. We are positive that by supporting rural preachers it will empower them to work harder and encourage more people to go into ministering. Again, by supporting the needy and evangelism work it will help rescue the perishing and care for the dying in Ghana, hence the name RESCUE GHANA MISSION. We acknowledge that there will be challenges on the road, but like every successful venture we must all show determination, commitment, bring all hands on deck, ensure transparency and accountability. And if we eschew skepticism and unnecessary suspicions, we can achieve great heights with this laudable initiative. So let’s join hands and support this worthy course.
