As part of our Hospital Visibility Programme, we visited the Children's Department of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, where our Board Chair and Executive Director engaged parents and hospital visitors in meaningful conversations about Down syndrome, inclusion, and the support available to families.

This marks the fifth hospital visit under this initiative since its launch in September, reflecting our continued commitment to raising awareness, providing accurate information, and connecting with families where they need it most.

Every conversation helps break misconceptions, encourages early support, and reminds families that they are not alone on their journey. 💙💛

Our Board Chair, Prof. Nana Akyaa Yao, shares the importance of heart screening and early intervention for children with Down syndrome. Because congenital heart conditions are common among individuals with Down syndrome, early detection can make a significant difference in health outcomes and quality of life.

In partnership with , DSAG recently conducted a heart screening exercise for children with Down syndrome and their families. We look forward to expanding these screenings across Ghana to ensure more children have access to the care they need.

Early detection saves lives. Early intervention changes lives. We are committed to changing and saving lives one person at a time.

Children with Down syndrome have a higher risk of heart conditions, and early screening can make a life changing difference.

Join the Down Syndrome Association of Ghana in partnership with Little Hearts Medical Practice as we commemorate and celebrate Mother’s Day and Father’s Day through this important health initiative.
