The Ashanti Unity For African Tribes began as an advocacy movement by Sergeant Asinor, after suffered tribal humiliation from his class teacher at age 13, in Junior High School in Techiman in the Bono East Region of Ghana.

Between 1996 and the year 2000 after continuous encounter of tribal and dialectical differences in his family and the community, Sergeant Asinor conceded the phenomenon was an issue to be resolved by his generation or generations to come.

He began a one-man advocacy to prepare a future for an organization through his interactions with any person he gets the opportunity to discuss importance of unity with.

In the year 2003, he organized students to form a Club against the idea of division in Akan family and the African Tribes.
The Club was called ABC, (Ashantis and Bonos Club).

In December 2004, the club was launched in the Techiman Senior High School in Ghana where he was a student after successfully presented members of the club to Chiefs and traditional authorities in the Techiman Palace and also wrote letters of recognition to the then Bono Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs and to the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

Just an after the club launched, it began experiencing strong opposition from some teachers and people who were not happy with the club establishment and vowed to disband it after Sergeant Asinor had completed the school.

After noticing the disintegration of the club members, Asinor registered the association as an organization and changed the name to Ashanti Foundation For African Tribes in the year 2010.

In 2023, after 13 years of the organization’s existence, Sergeant Asinor again re-registered the organization to ASHANTI UNITY For African Tribes and created accounts on the social media platforms to expand its membership worldwide.
