From vision to action!

Last month, the people of Daganaakura came together to draw their vision for the future of their community. Now, that vision is taking shape.

During our second Community-Led Development session, community members validated and adopted their five-year vision, mapped key stakeholders, established a Community Development Committee (CDC), and began planning actions to bring their aspirations to life.

One inspiring milestone?
The community has already mobilized GHS 8,000 towards renovating their temporary school and is preparing to begin work in August, a true demonstration of local ownership and collective action.

At PureTrust Foundation, we believe sustainable development happens when communities lead the way.

Follow our journey as we continue supporting communities to turn their vision into lasting impact.

A vision for the future starts with the people!

For two days, the Daganaakura community came together to reflect, learn, and plan for a better future through a Community Visioning Workshop facilitated by PureTrust Foundation.

Community members, including traditional leaders, women, men, youth, children, and religious leaders shared ideas, discussed human rights, explored the importance of education and inclusion, and identified the changes they want to see in their community over the next five years.

The workshop created a platform for every voice to be heard and reinforced a simple but powerful message: communities are best placed to lead their own development.

The next phase will see the community validate its five-year vision, establish a Community Development Committee, identify partners, and begin turning their shared vision into action.

Together, we are building stronger, more resilient communities one conversation, one plan, and one step at a time.

Follow PureTrust Foundation to see how communities are leading the way in creating lasting change.

Planning, learning, and improving, every step counts!

Our team recently held a planning and review meeting to reflect on our progress and strengthen the way we deliver impact in our communities.

The meeting focused on reviewing our Agriculture Strategy and Baseline Study, discussing the GSA SHINE Nursery Project and the Nature’s Heartbeat Project, and sharing lessons from our recent engagement with the Daganakura community.

These discussions help us stay focused on what matters most: building resilient livelihoods, promoting sustainable agriculture, and ensuring our work continues to create meaningful change for the communities we serve.

Thank you to our dedicated team for your commitment to learning, collaboration, and community-driven development.

Follow our journey as we continue working alongside communities to create lasting impact.

Impact of Livelihood Trainings under the Nature's Heartbeat!

A recent monitoring visit to beneficiaries of the pastries training in Nabengu, North Gonja District, revealed encouraging results!

Some women are already producing and selling pastries locally. Notably, Madam Wasila is not only running her business but also training another community member through apprenticeship. She also plans to expand her products, including introducing bread to the community.

A great step toward sustainable livelihoods!

Greetings from Klampobile!

We engaged with the Klampobile Women Cooperative as part of the introduction of the Global Shea Alliance (GSA) SHINE Project. The engagement created an opportunity to interact with community members, introduce the project’s objectives, and discuss how the initiative will support women and strengthen livelihoods.

We are excited about the journey ahead and look forward to working hand in hand with the community to create meaningful and lasting impact.

We officially commissioned a community-initiated borehole, bringing safe and potable water closer to the Daganaakura community.

The commissioning was marked by excitement and heartfelt appreciation from community members, who expressed their gratitude for the support that made this initiative possible.

We successfully held our virtual project close-out meeting for the Champions of Change: Collective Resilient Action Against SGBV initiative, bringing together partners and key stakeholders to reflect on the journey, achievements, and lessons learned.

The session provided a valuable platform to highlight the project’s impact across communities in the Northern and Savannah Regions empowering women, strengthening local systems, and driving collective action against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).

We are proud of the strides made through collaboration with partners including NCCE, CHRAJ, Community Foundations, and the Federation for Persons with Disabilities. Together, we have not only raised awareness but also nurtured a network of community champions committed to sustaining this work.

As we close this phase, the commitment remains strong to continue building safe, inclusive, and resilient communities where every voice matters.

👏 Thank you to all partners and stakeholders for your dedication and support throughout this journey.

🌱 Sustaining Impact Beyond Training! 🌿

Yesterday marked the successful completion of a 3-day practical training in pastries and cosmetics in Gurubagu Community, North Gonja District, under A Rocha Ghana’s Nature’s Heartbeat Project—and the impact is already inspiring!

Participants are now equipped with hands-on skills in producing items such as polo, chips, shortbread, pies, coated nuts, bofrot, plantain chips, sobolo, tiger nut and millet drinks, as well as bar soap, Azuma blows, liquid soap, after-wash, ointment, and pomade.

With the starter material packages received, beneficiaries are ready to begin their own small-scale production, paving the way for improved livelihoods while reducing pressure on the Mole Landscape.

The journey doesn’t end here, this is the beginning of sustainable change!
