A New Beginning for Early Childhood Education in Zugu!

We are proud to celebrate the provision of an ultramodern, fit-for-purpose Kindergarten (KG) facility for the people of Zugu in the Yendi Municipality.

This child-friendly facility features:
✅ Two fully furnished classrooms
✅ A dedicated office space
✅ A dining area for children
✅ A safe and comfortable sleeping bay

Speaking at the event, the Municipal Chief Executive of the Yendi Municipal Assembly, Hon. Sugri Muniru, shared his excitement:

“I am happy to inform you all that this KG facility design is unique, and we at the Assembly have replicated the same for Kuga Kindergarten in Yendi.”

This milestone reflects a strong commitment to improving early childhood education and ensuring that every child, including the current 87 (52 boys & 35 girls) pupils enrolled, has access to a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment to learn and grow.

We extend our deepest appreciation to all partners and stakeholders whose support made this possible. Together, we are shaping a future where every child can learn, grow, and dream fearlessly.

“We still lose babies. We still lose pregnant women. We still lose women when they are delivering.”

Samuel hears this reality every day in communities like Bongnaayili, Northern Ghana.

He grew up facing similar challenges, walking long distances to school, often without food or basic supplies. Today, he’s working to support families where access to healthcare is still out of reach.
When care is kilometres away, even the smallest delay can become life-threatening.

We’re reminded that where you live shouldn’t determine whether you live.

Children of Chiana-Asunia Receive a Safe, Fit for Purpose Kindergarten Facility

Children at Chiana-Asunia in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region now have access to a safe and fit for purpose kindergarten block, significantly improving the teaching and learning environment.
Previously, teaching and learning in the kindergarten classrooms were disrupted by safety concerns.

“I am happy that I no longer have to worry about seeing snakes in the classrooms. Seeing snakes in the kindergarten classrooms became a routine, and I feared for the children every day. Today, with this new kindergarten block, the pupils are safe, and teaching and learning can go on smoothly. Thank you, Children Believe.”
— Moses Bani, Headteacher, Chiana-Asunia Primary School

This new facility provides a secure and supportive learning space, giving both teachers and pupils peace of mind and allowing education to thrive without fear or interruption.

Quality education starts with the right investment—enrolling children at the right age, providing safe and supportive learning infrastructure, and equipping classrooms with trained and motivated teachers. When donors help us start right, children stay in school, succeed academically, and build pathways out of poverty. With the right support, Gbulahagu children can dream boldly and succeed fully.

Children Believe Ghana Hosts Canada’s International Development – Global Affairs Canada Team in Tamale

Children Believe Ghana was delighted to host Anik Labelle (Senior International Development Officer) and Kaleigh Beauvais (International Development Officer) from Global Affairs Canada during their working visit to Tamale.

As part of the field engagement, the team visited stakeholders in the Kumbungu District, where they:
Met Integrated Nutrition Teams (INTs) in Shedua and Gingani.
The teams shared powerful stories of how the CHANGE Project is improving nutrition practices, empowering women and adolescent girls, and strengthening community-led health initiatives. Beneficiaries showcased their home gardens and demonstrated how diverse local foods contribute to improved household nutrition and food security.

This visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of Children Believe, Global Affairs Canada, and local partners to advancing nutrition, gender equality, and community health across Northern Ghana.

A key highlight of the visit was an important meeting with the Kumbungu District Assembly.
The District Assembly expressed deep appreciation to Children Believe and Norsaac for the meaningful and visible strides achieved in the municipality through the CHANGE Project. They emphasized how the project is improving community nutrition, strengthening local health systems, empowering women and adolescent girls, and
contributing to overall social development in the district.
The Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to continued collaboration to sustain the gains made.

Together, we continue to champion change!
