Songtaba's mission is to build transformative and resilient communities through strategic partnerships, collective advocacy, and grassroots action with individuals and organizations. Songtaba is an organization committed to the realization of the aspirations and rights of women and children, especially girls, in the north-eastern part of Ghana. Songtaba, through the HEARD 2 Project, is convening the Annual Women in Governance Conference โ€“ Northern Region, bringing together women , public institutions, civil society organizations, acadeia, women-led networks, and emerging young women leaders.

The will provide a platform to strengthen womenโ€™s leadership, build confidence, promote networking and mentorship, and deepen understanding of the Affirmative Action (Gender Equity) Act.

Day Two focused on Human Resources and Organizational as critical pillars of organizational strengthening and sustainability.

Participants explored how effective HR and clear organizational policies can help organizations attract, develop, motivate and retain the right people, while creating a fair, safe and accountable working environment.

Songtaba participate in a 5 days boot camp as part of the Civil Society strengthening program lead by STAR-Ghana Foundation and West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) .

Day One focused on Organizational Governance and Leadership, taking participating organizations through the foundational principles and systems that underpin effective and leadership.

Meet Musah Mawada a young whose journey is a powerful reminder of what happens when young women are given the opportunity, support and platform to lead.

Recognizing her potential, Songtaba, through the Girls Advocacy Alliance Project funded by Plan International Ghana, provided Mawada the opportunity to serve as a Community Mobilizer. In this role, she mobilized communities, engaged and advocated for girlsโ€™ rights, participation and empowerment.

But Mawadaโ€™s journey goes beyond one role, from serving as Womenโ€™s Commissioner at Bagabaga College of Education, CAMA Cluster Chairperson, Girlsโ€™ Prefect, Community Mobilizer, and member of the Girls Advisory Council, she continues to use her voice to and create change.

Today, Mawada is pursuing a Bachelor of Education at Bagabaga College of Education building not only her future, but the future of the girls and communities she hopes to influence.

Songtaba convened media professionals for a capacity-building workshop on legal and regulatory to prevent Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in Ghana under the Creating Healthier Futures project in partnership with CAPHA.(Coalition of Actors for Public Health Advocacy).

The session opened with a sobering from Dr. Joyce Kalu Amoah, NCD Coordinator for Northern Region, who walked participants through the current prevalence of NCDs in the region - grounding the dayโ€™s conversations in the real scale of the challenge before turning to .

Participants also deepened their understanding of Ghanaโ€™s food-environment bundle - Front-of-Pack Warning Labelling (FOPWL), Food Marketing Restrictions, and Food-Related Fiscal Policies - and practiced translating this knowledge into accurate, evidence-based reporting through hands-on advocacy message development.

Participants were also equipped with on ethical reporting on health, nutrition, and regulatory policy issues to cover these topics responsibly, without sensationalism, and grounded in evidence.

The real win? Media houses didnโ€™t just leave with knowledge - they left with commitments. Participating stations pledged , TV time, and featured space in their publications to champion the campaign for healthier food environments and stronger NCD prevention across Ghana.
