Earlier this month, CDF Canada’s IAAM and VOICE for Women and Girls Projects came together in Malawi to mark the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. This global campaign raises awareness, demands action, and works to prevent violence against women, girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ individuals worldwide. These activities also marked the launch of the 2025 campaign theme, “Unite to End Digital Gender-Based Violence in Malawi.”
In 2025, the campaign places a timely and urgent focus on digital gender-based violence, recognizing that harm in online spaces is real, pervasive, and deeply connected to safety, education, leadership, and participation in public life. Alongside government and community partners, both projects took part in campaign launch activities to reaffirm their shared commitment to gender equality, safeguarding, and the creation of safer, more inclusive communities, both offline and online.
