The increasing of , , and young people continues to expose many to significant risks, particularly from extremist and terrorist groups who deliberately target these populations to advance their agendas.

advocacy for their is not just important—it is essential. By in education, awareness, and community resilience, we can reduce to and protect lives. Empowered individuals are better equipped to recognize threats, resist exploitation, and contribute to safer, more informed communities.

Preventing exposure to threats such as improvised explosive devices (IEDs) requires a collective effort—one that prioritizes , protection, and opportunity for those most at risk. When we empower women, children, and , we are not only their futures but also building stronger, more resilient societies.

THF-GH was proud to participate in the regional engagement dialogue organized by the JoyNews Impact Makers Foundation in Tamale under the theme “Democracy Is Not For Sale.”

The dialogue brought together civil society actors, youth leaders, persons with disabilities (PWDs), state , and advocates to confront the growing normalization of political monetisation in Ghana. Discussions how vote buying and financial continue to distort electoral processes, erode public , and weaken democratic .

A key concern raised was the disproportionate impact on ’s political participation. Many capable women are sidelined due to barriers in a system driven more by money than merit.

At THF-GH, we believe that “democracy is not for sale” extends far beyond the of vote buying it a commitment to , fairness, accountability, and opportunity in .

The call to action is clear: must reject vote buying, transparency, and hold accountable. Young people and women must organize, participate, and change. Institutions must also laws and protect the integrity of our democratic processes.

THF-GH, with funding support from the African Women's Development Fund(AWDF), successfully organized a two-day stakeholder workshop in the Tolon District under the theme: “Strengthening Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration and Community Engagement to Prevent and Respond to Sexual Violence.”

The workshop brought together key stakeholders, including district directors from the Ghana Education Service, Ghana Health Service, DOVVSU, CHRAJ, Department of Social Welfare, Ghana , Gender Desk Officers, the media as well as traditional leaders and faith actors. Their participation the importance of responsibility in addressing sexual violence.

We were also proud to engage communty protection members and school-based clubs (Duhimi A Yee), alongside their patrons, who contributed to discussions and -created practical, community-driven solutions to end sexual violence.

Over the two days, participants deepened their understanding of sexual and gender-based violence, its forms, root causes, and the and institutional for prevention and response. Sessions also highlighted survivor-centered approaches, effective pathways, and the role of timely reporting. Young people were empowered as advocates for awareness, peer education, and positive behavioral change within their schools and communities.

The workshop concluded with a from all stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, enhance community engagement, and take decisive action in preventing sexual violence. Together, we continue to build , more environments for women, girls, and all members of society.

THF-GH honored an invitation from our valued partner, Plan International Ghana, to participate in a one-week Partner Review Meeting and Capacity Building Workshop held in the Upper West Region.

The meeting brought together implementing partners to review project , share lessons from the field, and collaboration aimed at improving program delivery and impact. It also provided a valuable platform for reflection, , and collective -solving.

As part of the engagement, partners participated in capacity-building sessions focused on , Gender Transformative Programming, and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL).

These sessions enhanced participants’ knowledge and skills to ensure that programs are , responsive, and in and evidence-based learning.

Through interactive discussions, peer learning, and collaborative exercises, partners their commitment to promoting environments, advancing gender , and strengthening monitoring systems that improve the quality and impact of in communities.

We were pleased to host a productive working visit from our valued partner, Plan International Ghana, as part of our ongoing partnership.

During the visit, a comprehensive verification exercise was conducted under the YET project being implemented by Tiyumba Hope Foundation.

This provided an opportunity to project records, validate reported outcomes, and ensure accuracy, , and in our implementation.

The exercise also allowed for engagement with project and field teams, reinforcing our commitment to delivering , evidence-based that improve lives within our communities.

We appreciate the continued partnership and technical support from Plan International Ghana as we work together to drive development and create lasting .
