We are pleased to share this easy-to-follow instructional video on basic sign language, developed specifically for healthcare professionals working in hospital settings. The video serves as a practical resource to help our beneficiary healthcare workers continuously practice, improve, and confidently apply essential sign language skills when attending to patients with speech and hearing impairments.

This video was produced by the CEDEPA Youth Changers as part of the project Hear Our Sign Language: No More Barriers to Communication, which aims to promote inclusive healthcare services and strengthen communication between healthcare providers and persons with hearing and speech disabilities.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Youth Empowerment Fund, the Global Youth Mobilization, and the European Union for their generous support and funding, which have made this project possible.

Last week, we presented television sets and Sign Language instructional materials to the management teams of the five (5) beneficiary hospitals participating in our project, Hear Our Sign Language: No More Barriers to Communication.

Earlier in the project, frontline healthcare professionals from these facilities underwent Sign Language training to enhance their capacity to provide inclusive and effective healthcare services to patients with hearing and speech impairments.

The presentation of these learning and training resources marks the successful completion of the project’s activities, which were designed to strengthen the ability of participating health facilities to deliver accessible and inclusive healthcare services to all members of the community.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Youth Empowerment Fund, the Global Youth Mobilization, and the European Union for their generous support and commitment to advancing inclusive healthcare through this initiative. Their partnership has made a meaningful impact in breaking communication barriers and promoting equitable access to healthcare.
