🚨 CALL FOR FUNDING PARTNERS 🚨

What happens when communities are empowered to identify their own challenges and lead the solutions?

NORSAAC is excited to launch a Reverse Call for Proposal (RCFP) under the Reimagining International NGOs (RINGO) initiative, a community-led approach that shifts decision-making power to the people most affected by development challenges.

Through a participatory process involving women, youth, traditional leaders, and community-based organisations in the Sagnarigu Municipality, sanitation governance has emerged as a critical priority. Together, communities have designed a practical and sustainable solution to address sanitation gaps, improve public health, and strengthen local accountability.

We are seeking funding partners to support an 18-month pilot initiative across five communities with a total investment of GHS 850,000.

This initiative will:
✅ Strengthen community sanitation governance
✅ Improve access to sanitation services
✅ Promote sustainable financing mechanisms
✅ Drive positive behaviour change
✅ Build long-term community ownership and resilience

We invite corporates, foundations, philanthropists, diaspora investors, and development partners to join us in advancing a development model that places communities at the centre of decision-making and action.

A team from Norsaac visited Savulugu Senior High School as part of activities to commemorate Menstrual Hygiene Day.

The engagement created a safe space for students to discuss menstrual hygiene management while challenging common myths and misconceptions surrounding menstruation.

Through an impactful role-play performance, students amplified advocacy efforts and raised awareness on menstrual hygiene issues. Conversations also emphasised the importance of parental care and open communication between parents and children to prevent misinformation and harmful misconceptions about menstruation.

One of the most inspiring moments was hearing male students openly share how they support their female colleagues during their menstrual periods, demonstrating empathy, understanding, and solidarity. 👏🏽

To further support the girls, sanitary pads were donated to help ease some of the challenges they face in managing their menstrual health.

Let's join hands in building informed, supportive, and stigma-free communities for girls and young women.

Be part of our National Dialogue on Menstrual Health, happening today at 10:00 am via this link https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81956402665?pwd=9RWi1baFzvXvCoHb3hJfIqibiShuzS.1

NORSAAC, in partnership with ActionAid Ghana and resource persons, successfully held a refresher training on the Young Female Platforms (YFP) Training Manual and proposal writing for school mentors from 25 Senior High Schools across the Northern and Northeast regions of Ghana.

The engagement strengthened mentors’ capacity to effectively facilitate YFP activities, support youth-led initiatives through quality proposal development, and encourage peer learning and collaboration.

A major highlight was the reflection on the impact of the YFP programme, especially the ABCs of Reproductive Health: Random Questions High Schoolers Ask booklet, a practical and engaging resource supporting adolescent reproductive health education in schools and communities.

As one mentor from Yendi Senior High School, Mr Abukari Alhassan, noted, the booklet has become “a Bible or Quran” for students, describing it as a game changer for young people’s understanding of reproductive health.

Access to clean water is more than a basic necessity; it is a gateway to dignity, health, and opportunity.💧

In many communities, families still travel long distances for hours each day in search of potable water. This burden falls disproportionately on women and children, limiting time for education, livelihoods, and economic activities. With the burden of long-distance water collection reduced, families can use their time more productively supporting livelihoods, engaging in economic activities, and ensuring children stay focused on their education.

Through a partnership between Children Believe Ghana and , a community borehole system has been commissioned to provide safe and reliable drinking water. This intervention brings relief to families, especially women and children who previously spent countless hours fetching water.

Beyond meeting daily needs, this initiative restores hope, improves public health, and reinforces the dignity and well-being of the entire community.
