Last Friday in Datooyili community in the Tamale Metropolis young people and community members came together to learn about the devastating effects of substance abuse on health, livelihoods, and community safety. The engagement also highlighted an emerging concern, the connection between drug abuse and youth radicalization.

Beyond awareness, participants were encouraged to be active protectors of their community by reporting drug-related activities and supporting those in need of help.

This activity is part of the Savana Signatures’ Get High on the GoodLife substance abuse awareness and prevention initiative.

Yesterday, Savana Signatures joined policymakers, development partners, civil society organizations, traditional leaders, security actors, and young people at the Series 2026 in Tamale, organized by Media General in partnership with the German Embassy Accra.

The dialogue explored the growing connection between and security, while highlighting pathways for building resilient communities. During the engagement, Savana Signatures held discussions with the German Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Frederik Landshoeft, and other stakeholders on the need to ensure that conversations translate into community-level action where climate impacts are most visible and most severe.

Importantly, we drew attention to an often-overlooked dimension of climate-security challenges: the role of , unverified information, and inflammatory in escalating tensions around land, water, migration, and livelihoods.

Our contribution to the discussion emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between climate actors and organizations working in digital engagement, community , and -driven development to help prevent conflict, strengthen social cohesion, and build long-term .

To mark and as part of activities under the , Bagabaga Demonstration Primary School Block A in the Sagnarigu Municipality established its school garden.

Through the initiative, the learners are gaining hands-on experience in , climate-smart , and sustainable food production while understanding the importance of protecting the environment for future generations.

To commemorate 2026 under the theme, “Inspired by Nature: For Climate. For Our Future,” Savana Signatures, through the Green School Clubs Initiative, took climate action beyond the classroom.

Students of Ridge JHS B led a clean-up exercise to the Sagnarigu Chief Palace and planted trees within their school environment, demonstrating that meaningful climate action begins with local solutions and community ownership.

Through the Green School Clubs Initiative, young people are being equipped with practical environmental skills, climate , and leadership opportunities while contributing to cleaner, greener, and more resilient communities.

Every tree planted is an investment in climate resilience. Every student engaged is a future environmental leader.

Through our Digital and training under the Livelihood and Economic Empowerment portfolio, newly graduated designers from DAY FASHION gained practical skills to market their brands, attract customers online, and grow their businesses with confidence.
