Savana Signatures conducted regional in the North East Region as part of the World Food Programme-funded School-Based and Community Nutrition Project.

The stakeholder engagement brought together actors in health, and at regional and district levels including school authorities, GES-SHEP Coordinators, Regional and District Nutrition Officers and other key stakeholders to Nalerigu to strengthen around school and .

Discussions focused on the scope of the Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) component, the roles and expectations of stakeholders, and how collective efforts can contribute to achieving the project’s goal of promoting nutrition behaviours among , families and .

The project will complement the existing school feeding programme by the WFP by adding a Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) component, helping , families and communities turn nutrition into healthier everyday .

This initiative is supported and funded by the World Food Programme and is being implemented across 5 regions in Ghana.

As part of the World Food Programme funded School-Based and Community Nutrition Project, Savana Signatures conducted regional in the Northern Region which brought together actors in health, and at regional and district levels.

School authorities, GES-SHEP Coordinators, Regional and District Nutrition Officers and other key stakeholders in the Northern Region were assembled to strengthen around school and community nutrition.

Savana Signatures has commenced implementation of the World Food Programme funded School-Based and Community (SBC) Project across 124 and their catchment across 15 districts in five regions in the Northern, North East, Upper East, Savannah and Oti regions.

The project is promoting better nutrition knowledge, four-star diets, locally available , healthy school meals, WASH and practices, helping , and communities make choices that support healthier lives.

This project is supported by the World Food Programme.

Environmental sanitation is not only a cleanliness issue. It is linked to , , drainage management and the ability of communities to respond to environmental risks.

It is against this background that, Savana Signatures together with the Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly, Zoomlion Ghana and residents of Gumani in Tamale, held a community clean up focused on clearing and desilting gutters along some streets in Gumani.

The exercise created a platform for community members, and staff to work together to address within their immediate environment.

Savana Signatures remains committed to supporting community led approaches that connect , public health and community resilience.
