Following strategic consultations with our core executive team — Abdul Warisis, Abdul Ganiyu Mustapha, Abdul-Baaki Adam, Haruna and Fatawu, the Majeed Waris Foundation (MWF) recently launched an impactful new initiative focused on sustainable community support.
Rooted in our local Dagbon wisdom, which reminds us that "charity begins at home," we directed our focus inward to the very bedrock of our local community. We sought to honor our deprived elders—resilient individuals who, despite financial hardship, continue to serve as pillars of moral guidance, wisdom, and inspiration for our youth.
Through diligent and discreet groundwork across Majeed Waris’s home community, our team identified 16 deserving community elders, along with a few close friends, who were in need of support.
The initiative was designed to support their dignity and daily sustenance, while encouraging self-reliance and helping them meet the needs of themselves and their dependents.
While our core commitment to orphanages, educational institutions, and persons living with disabilities remains steadfast, empowering our local elders represents a vital expansion of our mission. Our contributions may be a modest step, but they yield a profound compound effect—securing the livelihoods of those who actively guard, guide, and mentor our next generation.
We extend our deepest appreciation to our dedicated team and to every supporter of the Majeed Waris Foundation.
Your unwavering trust and creative ideas continuously propel us to serve our community with greater purpose.
