𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠!

Some weeks back we were at the house to engage with the parliament select committee on and sports and other stakeholders on the non-compliance of funds allocation to NYA and YEA by the DACF.

The engagement was a tough ride through data, law and the youth aspirations but, in all a huge success. This a visual summary of the engagement, expressions and interactions.

𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐠𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

𝐹𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑛𝑜𝑛-𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑖𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑛𝑜 𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑜𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑛𝑢𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑑𝑜𝑛'𝑡 𝑙𝑖𝑒.

At YEFL-Ghana, we've spent years pushing one simple demand 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞!!! Last week, that fight took a big step forward.

Through our "𝑭𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚" Campaign under the E4L Program Ghana we held a dialogue with Members of Parliament's Select Committee on Youth and Sports on Financing. And what a conversation it was! 🇬🇭

We walked the Committee through our campaign journey, from documenting non-compliance of the DACF on the allocation to NYA and YEA, to the harsh reality we're facing today: allocations that have shrunk to almost nothing. 📉 The data we presented was eye-opening, and the Committee didn't hold back their concern, they were genuinely moved by what the numbers reveal.

One clear message came out of the room: DACF, NYA, YEA, and the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment (MoYDE) all need to be at the table if this is going to be fixed. 🤝

And the in the room? They didn't just listen, they asked hard questions, voiced their frustration and disappointment, and made one thing clear: youth financing must be prioritized. Now!!!

We're now looking forward to hearing back from the Committee once they've engaged DACF, NYA, YEA, and MoYDE directly.

Since 2022, YEFL-Ghana, through the Empowerment for Life Program, has been driving the "𝑭𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚" Campaign, a bold push for transparency and accountability in youth financing across Ghana.
From tracking how youth funds are allocated and utilized under the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), to engaging directly with Parliament's Select Committee on Youth and Sports, youth groups, and civil society organizations, we've kept the conversation alive on one critical issue: the shrinking government allocation to youth agencies and initiatives.
The numbers matter. The gaps matter. And the voices of young people demanding answers matter even more.
YEFL-Ghana remains committed to ensuring every cedi meant for youth development reaches its purpose. 💪

Last week, the Ghana Developing Communities Association - GDCA, through the Empowerment for Life (E4L) Program, collaborated with the Right to Information RTI Commission Ghana (RTIC) to organize capacity-building workshops for selected staff from the 10 E4L Program operational MMDAs.

The training strengthened participants' understanding of the Right to Information (RTI) Act and improved their readiness to respond to citizens' requests for information.

Following a debriefing session between E4L staff and RTIC resource persons, there was a strong sense that the workshops would help improve compliance with the Act in public institutions.

Through the Empowerment for Life Program, YEFL-Ghana organized a two-day leadership bootcamp for the leadership teams of the Northern Regional Youth Network and North-East Regional Youth Network.
The training strengthened participants' capacity in:

✅ SMART Objective Setting

YEFL-Ghana recently brought together our dedicated Youth Budget Monitors and Youth Policy Champions for a powerful review workshop under the .0 campaign! 💪🏽

Over the course of the workshop, participants took a meaningful step back to:

✅ Celebrate the wins and successes recorded
✅ Embrace new developments that have shaped the journey

This honest and bold reflection wasn't just a look back — it was the fuel needed to draft strong, strategic advocacy plans that will drive action for the rest of 2026! 🗓️

Our youth are not just watching — they are monitoring, championing, and holding systems accountable. The future of civic advocacy is in safe hands! 🙌🏽
