Changing our mindset is the first step to inclusion. Persons with disabilities are capable, valuable, and deserving of equal opportunities. Let’s see ability, not disability.
Disability does not define a person’s worth. Our mindset does. Choose respect. Choose inclusion.
Inclusion starts in the mind. Change how you think, speak, and act towards persons with disabilities.

Five Things You Should Know About Treating Persons with Disabilities

At CREDA - Centre for Research and Development Alternatives we believe that inclusion begins with understanding. As you watch this video, here are five key reminders for engaging respectfully with persons with disabilities:

1️⃣ Recognize the Person First
Disability is only one part of who they are. See their abilities, strengths, and potential.

2️⃣ Use Dignified and Respectful Language
Our words shape our attitudes. Choose language that promotes respect and equality.

3️⃣ Offer Support Don’t Assume
Always ask before helping. Empower individuals to maintain their independence and dignity.

4️⃣ Practice Patience and Active Listening
Give time, allow expression, and engage with empathy. Respect grows from understanding.

5️⃣ Promote Accessibility and Inclusion
Let’s create spaces physical, social, and educational that welcome everyone.

✨ Together, we can build a more inclusive society where every person is valued and supported.
