ADD Ghana wishes every one.On this May Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of workers with disabilities across Ghana and beyond. Disabled workers continue to break barriers, drive innovation, and contribute meaningfully to national development despite facing discrimination and limited opportunities. We call on government, employers, and society to promote inclusive workplaces, equal pay, and accessible environments for all. Disability inclusion is not charity—it is a right and a pathway to sustainable development. Let us commit to creating fair opportunities where every worker, regardless of ability, can thrive, be respected, and reach their full potential. Inclusive work benefits everyone

Over the past few months,ADD Ghana implemented a disability inclusion project through wheelchair basketball in Northern Ghana to promote participation, confidence, and social integration among persons with disabilities. The project engaged youth and adults in regular training sessions, community matches, and awareness campaigns to challenge stigma and discrimination. Participants developed teamwork, physical fitness, and leadership skills while increasing visibility of disability sports. Collaboration with local authorities and community groups strengthened support for inclusive recreation. However, challenges such as limited sports equipment, funding constraints, and inadequate accessible facilities persist. Expanding partnerships and investment will enhance sustainability and scale up inclusive sports opportunities across the region.
