This Year's Shea Day celebration was life at Buipewura II Sports Stadium in the Savananah region. SNG was there to witness the event. The event showcased the sucesses chorked in raisng seedlings and protecting the shea tree. Most speeches eologised the contribution of shea to poverty alleviation in the northern parts of Ghana.

The Buipewura was in full regalia at the Shea Day Celeberation. As an Implementing partner of the GSLERP and the programme focusing on the promotion of tree planting, nurturing and protection,, Shea Network Ghana was fully represented and witnessed the symbolic planting of shea seedlings by the dignatories including the Chairperson, Queenmother of the Chaana Traditional Area, Lady Salma who is also a shea ambasordor.

As part of sustainability of the Achubunyo nursery and continues availability of seedlings all year round, SNG potted some shea seeds for early transplanting in 2027. These seeded pots will be ready for transplanting next year or next two years. This is to ensure SNG maintains seedling stock at the Achubunho nursery.

On 8th July, 2026 SNG engaged 100 women in the Larabanga community in West Gonja Municipal in capacity building on managing Shea parklands and sustainably. This activity was facilitated by Shea Network Ghana with support from Bio Tropicals LTD. This activity forms part of the output 2 .1 of the GSLERP. SNG also seeded some shea seedlings in the Achubunyo nursery for early planting in 2027. Participants demonstrated their readiness to leave no stone unturned in the management and protection of Shea parklands in their communities. They requested 10,000.00 Shea seedlings from the SNG Achubunyo nursery to be transplanted on their individual farms under agroforestry management. What are you waiting for? Shea Network was heavily represented at the launch of National Shea Commodities Platform at mordern city hotel in Tamale. This is yet another opportunity for stakeholders in the shea sector to use a multi-stakeholder platform for coordination and policy dailogue to strengthen collaboration among public institutions, private sector actors, development partners, research institutions, producer organizations, processors, exporters and other stakeholders within the shea sector.
Therefore, everybody who matter in the shea industry was there. The northern regional minister representative launched the platform.
On wednesday 10th June 2026, SNG also had the rare opportunity to participate in the determination of the 2026 floor price for shea kernel. At the end of the day, a consensus agreemenet was reached to maintain the last year 2025 price until further notice. These two meetings were facilitated by the Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA).

All said and done, Shea Network Ghana with the support of members of the Local Organizing Committee, brought 75 shea pickers, processors and traders to the Shea 2026 conference in Accra held at Kempinski between 27th & 29th April 2026. Even though the task of transporting this number of people to the Shea 2026: Beyond Borders seemed unsurmountable due to low response from the sponsorship sought, at the end of the day our particiption was highly successful and trully representative of Ghana's Shea zone in the five northern regions namely northern, upper east, upper west, savannah ànd northeast regions of Ghaha. Our sincere thanks goes to PB Trade and Tree Crops Development Authority(TCDA) for thier kind sponsorship. The northern regional minister deserves our commendation for facilitating for us to use two buses from Kumbungu and Vitting Senior High Schools for the journey. Ayekoo to the two headmasters who released the buses. All the women and men who were able to attend this august global shea event sends their best wishes to all who made it possible and with chorus they say Ayekoo!.
