All said and done, Shea Network Ghana with the support of members of the Local Organizing Committee, brought 75 shea pickers, processors and traders to the Shea 2026 conference in Accra held at Kempinski between 27th & 29th April 2026. Even though the task of transporting this number of people to the Shea 2026: Beyond Borders seemed unsurmountable due to low response from the sponsorship sought, at the end of the day our particiption was highly successful and trully representative of Ghana's Shea zone in the five northern regions namely northern, upper east, upper west, savannah ànd northeast regions of Ghaha. Our sincere thanks goes to PB Trade and Tree Crops Development Authority(TCDA) for thier kind sponsorship. The northern regional minister deserves our commendation for facilitating for us to use two buses from Kumbungu and Vitting Senior High Schools for the journey. Ayekoo to the two headmasters who released the buses. All the women and men who were able to attend this august global shea event sends their best wishes to all who made it possible and with chorus they say Ayekoo!.

On Tuesday, it was the turn of members of SNG family to corroborate the information that was gathered about farmer-organizations in Northern Ghana that included Shea Network Ghana for the Gates Foundation. This was a focus group discussion sessions held at SNG offfice at Naa Luro Estate in Tamale. It was inspiring to hear what shea pickers, aggregators, processors, traders and exporters consider industry problems and thier suggestions on how to surmount them. This was ably led by Prof A. Halim Abubakari of the UDS. It is our fervent hope that, at the end of everything, a project will come out of the entire excercise.
