WUZDA Ghana’s FaPUOWaFLiS Project Moves into Phase 4, with Expected Increased Results in Communities.

The Farm-Promoting Urban Organic Waste for Food and Livelihood
Initiatives (FaPUOWaFLiS) Project has recommenced following
a successful conclusion of its third phase, which significantly improved the lives of individuals in communities across the Northern Region.
Over several years, the FaPUOWaFLiS project has prioritized the enhancement of incomes and the promotion of financial literacy. April 2026, the project will be engaging 283 organic vegetable farmers who will implement advanced agroecological farming techniques to cultivate a diverse range of organic vegetables.
The project also facilitated the establishment of advocacy groups to campaign for more favorable market conditions for vegetable farmers in the Tamale Metropolitan area, Savelugu, Kumbungu, Sagnarigu Municipalities, and Tolon Districts of the Northern Region.
A total of 283 beneficiaries, comprising 118 men and 165 women from 10 communities across the 5 MMDs (Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies), were introduced to new technologies and innovations aimed at amplifying the production of a variety and quality of organic vegetables by 53%. This initiative endeavors to sustain farming activities, particularly during the dry season.
