Let's throw you back to the climax of our Photography for Girls for Confidence Building component under the STEP I Project.

After months of learning, exploration, and self-expression, the girls came together to showcase their growth, creativity, and confidence. Through photography, they learned to tell stories, express themselves, and see the world and themselves from a different perspective.

What began as a training journey ended as a celebration of courage, creativity, and the limitless potential of young girls.

Here's to the girls who found their voice behind the lens and the confidence to step into their future.

We are delighted to welcome Sana and Kathleen to the NiV family through the HerStart Fellowship Program by Youth Challenge International (YCI).

Sana brings a passion for women's rights, social justice, and ethical storytelling. As she begins her Master's studies in Religions and Cultures, she is eager to learn from communities, explore new cultures, and support women entrepreneurs while strengthening her skills as a researcher and social activist.

Kathleen joins us with over 15 years of experience across the community, public, and education sectors. A human-centred design practitioner and nonprofit consultant, she has led initiatives that empower youth and strengthen communities both in Canada and internationally.

Together, they bring a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and commitment to social impact. We are excited to learn from them, collaborate with them, and witness the contributions they will make to empowering women and young people in Northern Ghana.

What does it take to move from youth participation to youth leadership?

At the recent EMpower Convening on Meaningful Youth Engagement (MYE) and Gender Inclusion & Diversity (GID), NiV reflected on how we engage young people, share decision-making power, and create more inclusive opportunities for leadership.

The experience challenged us to listen more intentionally, identify gaps in our systems, and commit to meaningful changes that place young people at the center of our work.
