MINUTES OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING OF NATIONAL SERVICE PERSONNEL ASSOCIATION ( NASPA), TAMALE METROPOLITAN

Time: 10AM- 12:45PM.
The meeting commenced with a solemn opening prayer led by Afa Nuhu, invoking the guidance of the Almighty Allah upon the proceedings. With this auspicious start, Ms. Victoria, the Honorable Wocom of the Tamale Metro, took the stage as the official Master of Ceremonies. She warmly welcomed the esteemed guests and the leadership of NASPA, setting the tone for a productive session.
President H.E Ibrahim Nurudeen then took the floor, extending a gracious welcome to all attendees. He outlined the accomplishments and upcoming initiatives of NASPA for the 2023/2024 service year. These included educational seminars on CV writing, interview skills, and entrepreneurship, alongside community-focused activities like health screenings and the provision of essential equipment to districts. President H.E Nurudeen emphasized the importance of unified support from all personnel in Tamale Metro to ensure the success of these endeavors.
Following President Nurudeen's address, Vice President Jennifer provided an update on NSS Souvenirs. She assured everyone that the souvenirs were readily available and would be distributed on April 13th, 2024, at the NSS Tamale Metro main office. Jennifer encouraged personnel to bring their NSS evaluation forms for concurrent processing during the souvenir collection.
The meeting then shifted focus to Mr. Kin Faisal Yaa Jara, the NSS Director for Tamale Metro, who addressed pressing concerns regarding banned PINs, unapproved E-Zwich cards, and delayed allowances. Mr. Faisal reassured attendees that resolving these issues was a top priority for the NSS, with progress already made in resolving banned PINs. He urged patience from personnel as the NSS worked diligently to rectify remaining issues.
Mr. Amin, the NSS administrator, reiterated Mr. Faisal's points, cautioning personnel against engaging with fraudulent individuals posing as NSS administrators. He highlighted the significance of accurate E-Zwich card information in preventing payment delays and assured those affected that solutions were being actively pursued.
In conclusion, the meeting underscored the importance of cooperation and vigilance among personnel to address challenges effectively and ensure the smooth operation of NSS activities in Tamale Metro.
During the meeting, Mr. Hafiz, the regional NASPA president, emphasized the value of NASPA membership and the benefits derived from dues payment, which support initiatives fostering peace and social interaction among members. Echoing his sentiments, Mr. Jawal Deen, the regional vice president and former Tamale Metro vice president, underscored the importance of unity and togetherness within the association.
Mr. Abdul Latif, the financial secretary of Tamale Metro NASPA, then presented the financial status of the association and proposed three different dues amounts for the 2023/2024 service year: GHC100, GHC70, and GHC40. In consideration of financial constraints, the attendees unanimously agreed on GHC40 as the manageable dues for the year.
During the open question session, one member inquired about deductions labeled as insurance from their monthly allowances, which was addressed satisfactorily by the regional president. Another member suggested the installation of ceiling fans in the NSS pavilion, a proposal noted for consideration by the executives.
Additionally, a concern was raised about burdensome loan deductions from allowances, to which the regional president assured resolution.
The meeting concluded with a closing prayer, marking the end of the proceedings.
