Five days. 37 Civil Society Organizations. One shared commitment: strengthening civil society from within.

The Northern Needy Child Foundation (NNCF) proudly participated in the Shifting the Power Civil Society Strengthening Bootcamp 2026, hosted at Peninsula Resort, Akosombo. This gathering brought together 37 CSOs for five days of learning, reflection, peer exchange, and collaborative problem‑solving.

Each day focused on a critical area of organizational strengthening:
🔹 Governance, Leadership & Organizational Culture
🔹 Human Resources & Organizational Policies
🔹 Financial Management, Compliance & Risk
🔹 Programme Management & Resource Mobilization
🔹 Constituency & Solidarity Building, Communications & Sustainability
Through real case studies, participants examined shared challenges, explored underlying causes, and developed practical solutions grounded in experience. The Bootcamp showed the power of civil society organizations learning with, and from, one another.

NNCF’s key lessons included:
✨ Governance is the backbone of organizational trust.
✨ People systems are sustainability systems.
✨ Financial compliance is everyone’s responsibility.
✨ Resource mobilization must align with mission, not just funding calls.
✨ Communication turns evidence into influence.
✨ Constituents’ voices must meaningfully shape decisions.
NNCF concluded the Bootcamp with a practical Organizational Strengthening Action Plan, containing immediate, medium‑term, and longer‑term actions across all five thematic areas.

Strengthening NNCF means strengthening the foundation from which children, women, and communities organize, lead, and create lasting change.

Community Engagement – CSSF Impact Feedback 2025

Northern Needy Child Foundation (NNCF) brought together staff, our Executive Director, and community constituents for a powerful engagement session on the impact of the CSSF project.

📌 Organisational Strengthening – CSSF Phase One 2025

Last year, as part of the CSSF Phase One programme, NNCF staff and management participated in a vital session facilitated by Dr. Alhassan Musah. The focus was on the development and dissemination of organisational policies, ensuring that our team is equipped with the right frameworks to guide operations, accountability, and sustainability.

📑 This engagement allowed staff to deepen their understanding of safeguarding, governance, financial management, and communication policies — laying the foundation for stronger systems and donor confidence.
