Goshen Global Vision was privileged to be represented by our Executive Director, alongside a remarkable group of bold and inspiring women at the Equity Leadership Program organized through WRI Africa’s Restore Local initiative at Nairobi, Kenya from 3rd to 6th August 2026.
At Goshen Global Vision, we strongly believe that the meaningful participation of women in restoration across Ghana’s cocoa belt is key to achieving sustainable and lasting development.
For us, this is not about creating a “generosity space” for women. It is about creating an enabling environment where women can claim their rightful space in decisions concerning their livelihoods, communities and natural resources. Achieving this also means engaging men with empathy, dialogue and collaboration, to build systems in which everyone has a meaningful voice.
Restoration is ultimately about people as much as it is about landscapes. When women and communities are empowered to lead, both people and nature thrive.

Who owns the trees on your farm?
Can you register them?
Why is it important?

Many farmers plant and care for trees, but not everyone knows their rights when it comes to owning, managing, or benefiting from those trees. Understanding these rights can help farmers protect their investments and support long-term restoration efforts.

On 9th and 10th June 2026, the Nature & Development Foundation (NDF), together with Goshen Global Vision (GGV), will meet with farmers and community members in the GGV restoration landscape to discuss tree ownership, tree registration, and why keeping records of planted trees matters. This is to strengthen tree tenure governance, support landscape restoration, and ensure farmers are better informed about the trees they plant and manage.

Building knowledge today for stronger forests and better livelihoods tomorrow.
