STUDENTS GET A BOOST: WEYE's Edu Project Fuels Learning in Ateiku

The Wassa East Youth Empire (WEYE) successfully carried out its Edu Project donation drive on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Ateiku D/A Basic School and Ateiku Methodist Basic School. The initiative aimed at enhancing students' comfortability through the donation of essential educational items saw the organization distribute supplies to the schools.

The Edu Project focused on donating items such as uniforms, books, pens, pencils, sharpeners and erasers to public schools. Specifically, the operation targeted the distribution of 3000 exercise books, along with pens, pencils, sharpeners and erasers.

In line with the "Tomorrow Leaders" project, some students were selected to undergo grooming and mentorship. This training aims to develop their leadership skills, preparing them to become future leaders.

The Headmistress of Ateiku D/A Basic School revealed that some students have not reported to school due to a lack of educational items such as books, pencils, and pens. She also urged the students to take their academics very seriously.

Addressing the team and student population, the PTA organizer for Ateiku D/A Basic School revealed that some students, even after two weeks of resuming classes, did not have even one exercise book. The organizer expressed profound gratitude to the youth group.

The Edu Project underscores WEYE's commitment to improving educational access and comfort for students.

As part of our motive as a YOUTH ASSOCIATION, Education was part of our mission or review of the association.

So, we visited two communities within WASSA EAST DISTRICT and they are:
1. WASS ADUKROM D/A PRIMARY SCHOOL
2. WASSA KAKABO JHS AND PRIMARY

With the help our group members and some outsiders, we were able to donate 3000 exercise books to all students in those schools. Some each student received not less than 5 books during the presentation. Pens, Pencils, Erasers and other learning materials was included as well.

We thank God for all these things and look forward to do more.

As part of WASSA EAST YOUTH EMPIRE policies, exclusive tour was included. And on the 26th of December 2023, WEYE embarked on EXCLUSIVE TOUR named “TOURING THE NZEMALAND”.

It was very nice fun and educated trip for the people of the association. Members from different regions and districts showed up interest to join us and it was warmly successful.
