Reimagine: Beyond the world we know, a new relationship with our ocean🌊

This World Oceans Day, CorpNation Foundation together with Yinson Production, Petroleum Commission, fishermen, fishmongers, women and young children of Akwidaa coastal community in the Western Region of Ghana came together to protect the ocean that feeds them.

The donation of a 2-cubic metre fish-shaped metal waste cage was donated to the community. The design is intentional which speaks the language of a fishing community. Leaders pledged to own it, keep it full, and ensure plastics never make it back to the sea.

At Akwidaa Beach, the talk turned to action. In one clean-up exercise, we recovered 240kg of plastic waste:
✅182kg PET bottles
✅58kg water sachets
That’s an estimated 696kg of CO₂ emissions avoided that would have come from burning, landfill decay, or producing new plastic.

🌱 Training the Next Generation of Green Leaders Through TVET 🌍

What if the next generation of green leaders is being trained right here, right now, at Takoradi Technical Institute?

We are excited to share that Takoradi Technical Institute (TTI) has constituted its Green Committee; a dedicated body of faculty heads and teaching staff mandated to provide strategic oversight and supervision for the Ecowarriors Green Club.

♻️ The Mandate
Together with CorpNation Foundation, the committee will work to advance TTI’s overall objective of becoming a green TVET model school. Management staff are now fully engaged in promoting environmental sustainability, while ensuring that Green Club members, teachers, and learners are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to initiate and lead environmental projects within the school. Beyond campus, the Ecowarriors will engage local community and business sectors to raise environmental awareness and drive sustainable actions.

✅ Resource Mobilisation to fund and scale projects
✅ Project Monitoring to track results and learning

With faculty heads and teachers at the helm, the Green Committee will guide the Ecowarriors to turn knowledge into action; building a cleaner campus, stronger community partnerships, and a generation of TVET graduates ready for green jobs.

This is an initiative of the “Pact for Skills: Support to the Transformation of the TVET System in Ghana” project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union, implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für InternationaleZusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in partnership with the Ministry of Education, CTVET, TVET Service.

We are proud to collaborate with the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs and fellow key stakeholders including other stakeholders in response to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama’s directive for the Two-Day National Flood Aftermath Clean-up Exercise. Proud to partner with the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs in support of H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s directive for the Two-Day National Flood Aftermath Clean-up Exercise. 🇬🇭

Today, Friday 10th July 2026, the CorpNation Foundation team joined the clean-up at Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC).
We represented Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs alongside Buzstopboys, and other partners.

We were also joined by Kantanka-ILO and Zoomlion for disinfection efforts.

🌱Advancing Sustainable TVET Education in Ghana through Partnerships 🌱

Under the UNESCO Green TVET Framework, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions are integrating environmental sustainability into every aspect of their operations – preparing learners with the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes needed for a green economy and sustainable development.

Implementing this framework in Ghana’s TVET education system requires institutional and stakeholder collaboration. That is why we are excited to announce our collaboration with GIZ Ghana, of Education, CTVET and TVET Service to lead in the green transformation at Takoradi Technical Institute — one of three national Green TVET Model Schools selected to pioneer competency-based, sustainability-driven technical education in Ghana.

Through this partnership, we will equip TTI’s management, teachers, learners, and Green Club members with the knowledge, skills, and infrastructure to embed environmental sustainability into every pillar of the UNESCO Green TVET Framework — from Green Curriculum to Green Campus, Green Culture, Green Community, and Green Research.

What are we building together?
✅Hands-on training on waste management, plastic pollution, water & sanitation, and health protection
✅Construction of a functional biodigester by learners and teachers using a learning-by-doing approach
✅15 new waste stations with segregated bins to drive CorpNation Foundation’s 4R+culture: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover
✅A central plastic collection point and composting area for organic waste
✅A school garden and greening initiatives to transform TTI into a living model of sustainability
✅Youth empowerment through Green Club competitions and leadership in sustainability

With 85% of Ghana’s workforce in the informal sector and TVET at the heart of skills transformation, this project is more than infrastructure — it’s about shaping a generation of green leaders, innovators, and job creators for a circular economy.

On Monday 9th June, we brought the Plastics Pay vibe to Tullow’s Takoradi office for Environmental Month 🌱

As part of their Environmental Month activities, Tullow Ghana Limited, Accra, Ghana invited EcoEmploy Africa & CorpNation Foundation to exhibit our environmental sustainability work and plastic recycled products to their staff.

Why? To make sustainability personal. To show that the bottle you recycle today could become the chair, roofing tile, or school bag you use tomorrow.
