Breast cancer does not always begin with a lump. Changes in the breast, skin, ni**le, or underarm area can sometimes be early warning signs.
This October, CSECNG encourages everyone to become familiar with what is normal for their body and to pay attention to new or unusual changes.
🎀 A change does not automatically mean cancer, but it should not be ignored.
Know. Check. Act.
If you notice something unusual, speak with a qualified healthcare professional.

🎀 WELCOME TO OCTOBER – BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH 🎀

This October, the Catholic Sisters Elderly Care Network Ghana (CSECNG) joins the global community in raising awareness about breast cancer and encouraging everyone to Know the Facts. Know Your Body. Take Action.

Throughout the month, we will be sharing simple, practical information on:
🌸 Breast cancer myths & realities
🌸 Signs and changes to look out for
🌸 Screening and early detection
🌸 Risk factors and healthy habits
🌸 Supporting those affected by breast cancer
🌸 Hope, compassion and encouragement

❤️ WHAT CAN A CAREGIVER DO?

NOTICE — Compare with her usual behaviour.
APPROACH — Sit beside her without pressure.
LISTEN — Give her room to speak.
OBSERVE — Look for other changes in eating, sleep, mobility, mood or communication.
FOLLOW UP — If the change persists, is significant, or comes with other concerning symptoms, involve an appropriate health professional.

If dizziness is sudden or severe, especially with facial drooping, weakness/numbness on one side, difficulty speaking, severe headache, chest pain, fainting, or difficulty breathing, seek emergency medical attention immediately.

🚨 DON'T MISS THE CHANGE

If eating less is accompanied by significant weight loss, difficulty swallowing, persistent vomiting or diarrhoea, marked weakness, confusion, or other concerning changes, don't treat it as simply “old age.” Seek professional medical assessment.
