Empowering the Girl Child: Divine Education Watch Leads Impactful School Tour Ahead of BECE and Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025

In a heartfelt journey to uplift, empower, and inspire young girls, Divine Education Watch, a dedicated non-governmental organization, recently concluded a powerful school tour and donation drive ahead of Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025, which was commemorated globally on Wednesday, May 28, 2025

This year’s initiative, held under the banner of the “Yes I Can” by Nana Kwesi Coomson campaign, focused on supporting the student’s by fostering confidence, encouraging academic excellence, and promoting menstrual hygiene education for the Girl Child. As part of the tour, the team visited five schools, where they donated sanitary products and engaged students in motivational talks aimed at helping them navigate both academic and personal development challenges.

This outreach could not have come at a better time, as the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is set to commence next week, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Recognizing the pressures associated with exams, the campaign worked to boost students’ morale, self-esteem, and mental readiness. Girls were not only given practical tools for menstrual care but were also reminded of their immense potential and the importance of approaching life and education with boldness and resilience.

The journey was brought to a significant close thrFalaaa Nationoration with Falaaa Nation, in celebration of their fifth anniversary. This final leg amplified the message of empowerment and sustainability, ensuring that the initiative leaves a lasting impact on the communities reached.

Speaking during the tour, representatives from Divine Education Watch Team Lead emphasized the importance of combining academic encouragement with hygiene education to create a holistic support system for young women. “We believe that no girl should miss school or lose confidence because of her period or fear of exams. This is about buildingDivine Education Watchf women leaders,” one team member shared.

With its continuous drive, Divine Education Watch and its partners have become a beacon of hope and strength for girls in school, reminding them that they are capable, worthy, and destined for greatness.

Many thanks to you all 💛🥰
