Students' Mentorship Programme - Builsa Students Union, Legon. The Builsa Students' Union is an association of students of Buluk and of Builsa origin and their associates. Enrollment and retention rate would increase.

It has branches in all tertiary institutions in Ghana, including; Universities, Polytechnics, Teacher and Nurses Training colleges, Professional Institutions and some Secondary Schools. A few years ago (2005), the Union Branch in the University of Ghana, Legon decided to embark on a mentorship programme aimed at advancing education in the district (Builsa District of Upper East Region). The main p

rocedure is to contact Builsa adults who understand the role of education in development to coach, inspire, encourage and support young Builsa students who have great potential or talent but are lacking direction, motivation and encouragement or who need a push to climb the educational ladder higher. The programme was officially launch at the University of Ghana campus on 14th November, 2009. At the function which was well attended, an appeal for funds to support the programme raised over GHC 3000.00. MENTORSHIP GOAL:

To advance the course of education in the district and use it as a tool for development

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES:

1. Mentees would be able to complete their tertiary and professional schooling.
2. The level of dropout rate among pupils in school would reduce.
3. Parents and Children would have a better appreciation of the benefits of education.
