The Ghana National Plastic Action Partnership is a multistakeholder platform that aims to encourage ideas, facilitate action and mobilize financing to address in Ghana.

Reconnecting. Sharing updates. Aligning for action. ♻️

The Ghana National Plastic Action Partnership (NPAP) recently visited Polytank Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of the Mohinani Group and home to Ghana’s first bottle-to-bottle recycled PET (rPET) facility.

As one of our valued stakeholders, the visit was an opportunity to reconnect, exchange updates on our plans for the year and explore how we can continue aligning our efforts to advance plastic action and circularity in Ghana.

Because building a circular plastics economy takes all of us; working together, sharing knowledge and turning conversations into action.

Plastic waste is a growing challenge, but innovation continues to open new doors towards a more circular future. ♻️✨

The Ghana NPAP Secretariat attended the launch and fundraising event for the GreenGo-Hub App by Hyve Management Systems Limited, where we had the opportunity to experience the app firsthand and learn more about its vision for improving waste management and plastic recovery within our communities.

Initiatives like this remind us that building a circular economy will require collaboration, technology, and practical solutions that make sustainability easier and more accessible for everyone.

We’re excited to see what’s ahead for this initiative and its pilot deployment within the city. 🌍

Good conversations. Fresh perspectives. A shared goal. ♻️

Yesterday Ghana NPAP, together with TUDelft and KNUST, hosted a Sundowner Knowledge Exchange on Advanced Chemical Recycling Pathways for Plastic Waste. The session brought together stakeholders across the plastics value chain for an informal evening of research insights, open discussion, and meaningful networking (with drinks and snacks to keep the ideas flowing).

In a sector evolving as quickly as plastics and circularity, continuous learning matters. Creating spaces where researchers, industry actors, policymakers, and innovators can exchange ideas is how stronger solutions emerge.

A big thank you to the TUDelft research team for sharing their work and insights: we look forward to learning more once the research is finalised. And to everyone who joined us for the conversation, thank you for your engagement, curiosity, and thoughtful contributions.

Here’s to more dialogue, more collaboration, and more action.

Race to Zero reminded us that the journey to a circular economy is a shared one ♻️

In this recap, Yayra Agbofah, Founder of Revival Earth, reflects on his session exploring the links between fast fashion, plastics, and Ghana’s circular economy goals, and the powerful truth that this transition cannot rest on government alone. It requires all of us: citizens, businesses, and communities.

The work continues.

Let’s keep showing up, collaborating, and taking action together.

The holidays were full: family, festivities, and purpose 🎄💚

As we eased into the new year, we spent part of the season doing what we love most: making memories and taking action for a plastic-free Ghana.

January is Month, and we couldn’t think of a better way to start 2026. At Teshie Market, we joined hands with local residents to remove over 5kg of plastic waste, proving that collective action, no matter the season, makes real impact.

Zero waste starts with everyday choices.
What plastic action are you committing to this year?

We took a quick detour from awards mode to do the real work, and last week, that work took us to Tamale.

Our Secretariat spent time engaging members of the informal sector on occupational gender-based violence and sexual abuse, and honestly? It was eye-opening. The knowledge gaps, especially around access to government support systems, reporting channels, and survivor protection, were far wider than what we’ve seen in the south. Add cultural context and lived realities, and it was clear: this conversation needed a different approach.

So we listened. We adapted. And what followed was one of the most insightful and fulfilling engagements we’ve had this year.

This is what Ghana NPAP stands for: bringing everyone to the table, not only to talk plastics out of the system, but to ensure the people who work with waste are treated with dignity, safety, and respect across the board.

Our sincere thanks to the Tamale Municipal Assembly for hosting us and supporting this important work.
We’re ending the year grounded, intentional, and focused. 💙
