CMAM CAPACITY BUILDING IN THE BONO EAST REGION
Last week our Programmes Director, Mr. Sampson Kawuo, facilitated a one-day capacity building for Nutrition Officers, Public Health Nurses, Community Health Nurses, etc on Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) conducted in the Sene West, Sene East and Techiman North Districts.
The training focused on strengthening the capacity of frontline health workers in delivering quality CMAM services. Key modules covered includes the overview of CMAM, defining and measuring malnutrition, outpatient care management of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) without medical complications, management of acute malnutrition through Outpatient Care (OPC), as well as monitoring, reporting, and supportive supervision of CMAM services.
As an organization committed to the prevention and management of malnutrition, we were honored to share our practical experiences and field-based lessons from implementing the Save the Malnourished Child (SmalCHILD) program over the years. We believe that strengthening the knowledge and skills of health workers is essential in improving early detection, treatment outcomes, and overall giving every child the opportunity to Grow physically, Develop cognitively and Prosper economically (Child GDP).
We appreciate the Bono East Regional Health Directorate, especially the Regional Nutrition Officer for invitation , and also commend them for their commitment to improving nutrition services and strengthening health system capacity.
Holystic Nutrition Organization remains dedicated to collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that every child has equitable access to quality nutrition care and a healthier future.
