Youth Vanguard of Christ Ministry - YOVAC To get the youths saved, educated, restored, rehabilitated and trained to be responsible leaders.

We aim to prepare the youth to accept Christ to build into their moral fibre, teach them to be able to stand against worldly corruption, provide academic/vocational guidance and counselling and also help deserving ones financially.

*TOPIC: PROPHESY*

*MEMORY VERSE:* _Acts 2:17-20 "And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy..."_

On the Day of Pentecost, Peter stood to correct and remind believers from all walks of life present in Jerusalem at that time that the abundance of the gift of prophecy clearly fulfilled another prophecy spoken by the prophet Joel (Joel 2:28).

The abundance of the prophetic today is not a fracture of scripture or a threat to the Church at all, but rather, the fulfilment of an end-time prophecy. It should be our headache when we(saints) meet as sons and daughters without the manifestation of this 'bonus' gift because we often frown on it.

Never try to fight this gift; it is either you appreciate it and prosper in the fulfilment of your purpose of existence, or you frustrate it to lose and even die before your time.
A church without the prophetic is as dangerous as sitting on a time bomb.
Sons and daughters, enough of the dreaming; it is for the old. This gift is divinely (Grace) given to the Church to preserve her faith and ensure perfection (Ephesians 4:11-14

*PRAYER:* Spirit of God, anoint me in the prophetic to glorify You in Jesus' name!

*INSIGHT:* Discerning true prophets from false ones is your responsibility. Get attracted to the prophetic, ask God for it, and you are on your way there.

*TOPIC: COVENANT LOVE AND FORGIVENESS (Part 2)*

*MEMORY VERSE:* _(ESV) - "For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more."_

In the first part of this sequel, we looked at God's covenant love and how we ought to respond to this. We continue from below today.

*Forgiveness and Restoration:*
God's promise in Hebrews 8:12 serves as a model for how we should forgive one another. When we forgive, we should do so wholeheartedly, not holding on to past wrongs. This is crucial for maintaining unity and harmony within the church and our relationships.

*Walking in Love:*
The act of forgiveness is an expression of love. It's not just a feeling but an action, just as God's love is an action. We must strive to live out this love daily, not only in our relationships with God but also in our interactions with others within the church and beyond.

*PRAYER:* Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for your covenant love and the forgiveness you offer through Jesus Christ. Help us to truly grasp the depth of your love and extend it to others. May we forgive as you forgive and love as you love. Lord, restore any lost love in our hearts and grant us the grace to walk in love each day. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

*INSIGHT:*
We must strive to live out this love daily, not only in our relationships with God but also in our interactions with others within the church and beyond.

*TOPIC: COVENANT LOVE AND FORGIVENESS (Part 1).*

*MEMORY VERSE:* _(ESV) - "For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more."_

In Hebrews 8:12, we find a powerful promise from God that emphasises His covenant love and forgiveness. This verse reminds us that God's love is boundless, and His forgiveness is complete. Let's explore this verse in the context of our relationship with God and His church.

*God's Covenant Love:*
God's love is unlike any other love we can experience in this world. It's a covenant love, an unwavering commitment to His people. In Hebrews 8:12, we see that God is not only forgiving but also merciful toward our iniquities. He doesn't just forgive our sins; He completely erases them from His memory. As children of God, we are beneficiaries of this extraordinary love.

*Our Response to God's Love:*
In response to God's covenant love and forgiveness, we are called to love as He loves us. We are encouraged to let this love flow through us into the world and our church community. Just as God is merciful and forgiving, we, too, should extend mercy and forgiveness to others.

This will be enough for our meditation today. We will continue with His forgiveness and restoration in the second part.

*PRAYER:* Thank you, Lord, for your forgiveness towards me. Help me, Holy Spirit, to respond to this with my utmost love for you.

*INSIGHT:* In response to God's covenant love and forgiveness, we are called to love as He loves us.

*HOW TO GIVE THANKS TO GOD*

*MEMORY VERSE:*
_Psalms‬ ‭37:18‬ ‭HCSB The Lord watches over the blameless all their days, and their inheritance will last forever.”_

As human as we are, when we do good for others, we tend to yearn for a thank you, at least from the beneficiaries of our magnanimity. When we are not thanked for our goodness, we either get angry or become demotivated to help next time. Can we as a people do good for others all our days and not wish to be thanked once? If you turn the other side of the coin, that’s exactly what we are doing to God. We fail to thank Him for His goodness.

If you don’t see what God does for you daily, refer to the memory verse above and know that He watches over you all the days of your life. Who watches over you when you sleep? And who ensures you wake up from your sleep and do not die?

It is written that you should pray without ceasing (1 Thes. 5:17). Yes, a prayer that never ceases is a thanksgiving prayer. You will always have something to thank God for. “Give thanks in everything, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭(1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:18‬)

A secret I have found to getting prayers answered is through “Thanksgiving” Every prayer topic of yours should be coated or sandwiched within thanks to God. That way, when God smells your thanksgiving in the heavens, your prayer topics will also be seen and answered. Don’t focus more on your prayer topics, but rather more on Thanksgiving. Because the Lord already knows what you need even before you ask of Him.

*PRAYER* Dear God, teach our spirits and minds to give thanks all the days of our lives.

*INSIGHT* Just as humans who were made in the Image of God crave thanks, so does God the Eternal Father.

*TOPIC: DESIRING TO DWELL IN HIS PRESENCE*

*MEMORY VERSE:* _Exodus 33:12-14 - "Then Moses said to the Lord, 'See, you say to me, "Bring up this people," but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, "I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight." Now therefore, if I have found favor in your sight, please show me now your ways, that I may know you in order to find favor in your sight. Consider too that this nation is your people.'"_

The presence of the Lord is not an obligation, but it is our duty as believers to seek and dwell in it. In Exodus 33:12-14, Moses understood the importance of God's presence and begged Him to show him His ways.

As believers, we must crave the presence of the Lord, for it is in His presence that we find joy, peace, and strength. The presence of the Lord is not something we can take for granted; it is something we must intentionally seek and cultivate.

*PRAYER:* Dear Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that Your presence is not an obligation, but my duty as a believer. I crave Your presence in my life, and I intentionally seek to dwell in Your presence. Show me Your ways, O Lord, that I may know You and find favor in Your sight. Amen

*INSIGHT:* The presence of the Lord is our greatest treasure as believers. Let us seek to cultivate a deep hunger for His presence in our lives.

*TOPIC: TRAINING THE YOUNGER GENERATION IN THE FEAR OF GOD*

*MEMORY VERSE:* _Matthew 19:14 (RSV) But Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the Kingdom of Heaven"_

Kofi, a two-year-old boy, went to church with his mother. He was disturbing her during the service, so she gave him her phone to play a game to prevent him from disrupting the service.

This seems to be the usual trend with most parents, right? But I don't think so. Can't the child be denied access to games or toys during those few hours at church? Can't he be taken to the Children's service to walk around and become familiar with the church environment and the children present? This should be done, rather than giving him the same thing he spends hours on at home.

In the memory verse, Jesus said that the Kingdom belongs to such children. I often ask myself if we are truly bringing these children to God.

As parents and teachers, have we loved God ourselves enough to raise them in this way? We must understand that we cannot give what we do not possess. We cannot give these children Jesus if we do not know Him or have a personal relationship and encounter with Him. Let's pray for wisdom from God to help us bring these children to Him, for they are the next generation.

The younger generation—our children, younger siblings, neighbours' children—are treasured souls to be won for Jesus. We must care for and value them as highly as we value our own lives.

*PRAYER*
Heavenly Father, grant me the wisdom to present these children to You without blemish or fault.

*INSIGHT* You cannot give what you do not have. You cannot give the children the Jesus you do not have or have not experienced personally.
