Day 2 of the 6th African Youth SDGs Summit in Accra, Ghana, built on the momentum of powerful conversations, collaboration, and innovation.

From insightful panel discussions and interactive sessions to networking opportunities and solution-driven engagements, young leaders from across Africa continued to share bold ideas and practical approaches to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.

As voices united around a shared vision for the continent, one message stood clear: Africa’s transformation is being shaped by a generation that is ready to lead, innovate, and drive sustainable impact.

Day 1 of the 6th African Youth SDGs Summit in Accra, Ghana, has set the tone for transformative dialogue and action.
Under the theme ‘𝑹𝒆𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑨𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒂 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉-𝑫𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝑺𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔’, young leaders, innovators, and changemakers gathered to tackle pressing challenges and champion Africa’s Sustainable Development Goals across the continent.
The energy, ideas, and commitment on display reminded us that the future of Africa rests on the shoulders of its youth.

A little late to posting because summit days have been sooo full😭, but here’s a Day One recap from the 6th African Youth SDGs Summit🌍🇬🇭

One of my biggest highlights was watching my mentor deliver the keynote address. Those are the moments that remind you why you started this work in the first place.

Being here representing Zambia and Youths On Sustainable Development has been such a humbling experience.

Every conversation keeps reinforcing something I say all the time: young people are not waiting to be part of development, we already are development partners.

Across Africa, young people are leading initiatives, influencing policy, building businesses, creating solutions and accelerating progress towards the SDGs every single day.

That’s exactly why I proudly call myself The SDGs Girl💙

Through YSD, my mission has always been to make the SDGs feel less like UN jargon and more like something young people can see themselves in, own and actively contribute to.

And with conversations already beginning around what comes after 2030, especially as we look ahead to 2027, my hope is simple: let’s not wait until the future is designed before inviting young people into the room. We should be helping shape it from the very beginning.
