LACODEV is a nonprofit organization that focuses its efforts on improving the education of the children in Larabanga, a rural community located in West Gonja District of Northern Region in Ghana. Larabanga population is around 6000, most are children. One of its important problems is Education. There are two Primary Schools and three Secundary classrooms and so more than 50 students of different a
ges come together in a same class, sometimes there is not even a teacher. Lacodev was born from the experience of two brothers from Larabanga, Buckson and Adams, who know their Community and their real problems. Adams works as a teacher in the next closest school to Larabanga and Buckson has worked for many years as a volunteer in different NGOs in Ghana. From that experience they decided to start teaching and supporting children who visit their house every evening, about hundred children today. They thought it would be good for the Community, the children and themselves if people from all over the world could live a great experience helping Larabanga through volunteering with Lacodev.
