YETS Ghana

YETS Ghana YETS Ghana is a locally driven NGO using sport as a tool to empower vulnerable youth and prevent social exclusion.

YETS Ghana is a locally led NGO using sport to engage, empower, and mentor at-risk youth (boys and girls) in low-income communities, equipping them with the skills, discipline, and confidence to stay in school, avoid social risks, and build better futures The organization works with role model coaches who apply the YETS Methodology, meaning they support the kids not only with sports, but also with

education and social integration. We're currently running a program at SOLA Orphanage in Anwiankwanta (Ashanti Region). About 20 children from the home and 30 children from the community participate in our program weekly, divided over a boys and a girls team. Thanks to the program, three girls from the orphanage received full athletic scolarships to enroll at first class senior high schools in Kumasi.

Introducing UNFILTERED: The YETS Beverage

This dream, by the man himself, Peter Otten, and the YETS Foundation team, is finally bottled. UNFILTERED, YETS Foundation's new natural soda drink, is out there and soon will be here in Ghana.

And guess what? The first cold servings hit DIFFERENT. People loved it. Pre-orders are rolling in. Meetings are lining up. The vibe is real.

UNFILTERED isn’t just a drink. It’s a movement. A soft drink crafted for meaningful encounters, honest conversations, and moments that remind us why community matters.

This is YETS Foundation’s thinking bigger, building boldly, and creating new opportunities for the future.

The launch is complete. The dream is alive. WHAT. A. GREAT. DREAM.

Now let’s celebrate together: “UNFILTERED on three… 1, 2, 3 — UNFILTERED!”

YETS Ghana is proud to celebrate one of its graduates, Bismark Akuoko Sarpong, a true testament to how sports and education can work hand in hand to change lives.

Akuoko, a graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), recently completed his studies with First-Class Honours in BA Integrated Rural Art and Industry, a remarkable achievement that reflects his dedication, discipline, and drive for excellence.

His journey with YETS Ghana began in 2015, when he joined the Shakers Basketball Academy while in JHS 1 at Anwiankwanta M/A Basic School. Through hard work and perseverance, Akuoko quickly stood out not only on the court but also in the classroom. He excelled in his BECE examinations, earning admission to the prestigious Opoku Ware School as a student-athlete under the YETS Ghana Basketball Programme.

After completing senior high school, Akuoko’s outstanding academic performance and leadership qualities earned him a full-ride scholarship from The Fish Foundation, facilitated through the YETS Ghana Scholarship Programme to pursue his university education without financial barriers. This milestone reflects YETS Ghana’s commitment to empowering young people through sports and education.

Today, Bismark represents the very essence of what YETS Ghana stands for: empowerment, education, and excellence through sports. His story is not just one of personal success but also a reminder of how investment in youth can create lasting community transformation.

Congratulations to you, Bismark Akuoko Sarpong, for your remarkable achievement. Your journey continues to inspire the next generation of young athletes and students who dare to dream beyond their circumstances.

We had the honour of meeting the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, at his office at the National Coordinating Council, a true leader with a heart for youth and community development.

Dr. Amoakohene expressed his excitement about YETS Ghana’s impact in the region, especially our ongoing construction of the Youth Development Centre in Anwiankwanta, a hub for dreams, discipline, and transformation through sports and education. His humility and genuine commitment to supporting young people remind us that real leadership listens, uplifts, and opens doors.

Together, we’re building dreams, one court, one youth, one community at a time. Join us as we use the power of sports to shape leaders, create opportunities, and inspire lasting change across Ghana.

Last Friday, September 19th, YETS Ghana presented some training jerseys and basketballs to our newly launched Basketball Academy in Kitase, Eastern Region, in partnership with Kitase M.A. Basic School, as part of our mission to promote basketball across Ghana and inspire the next generation.

We believe this presentation will help to empower these young athletes to dream big, work hard, and reach their full potential.

A big thank you to our amazing partners who made this possible:
