On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, Doman Sarkin Zango, Alhaji Murtala Ahmed, granted an interview to Opemsuo Radio following the Awukudae ceremony at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

He began by introducing himself and his family before highlighting what transpired during their visit and homage to the Asantehene.

He gave a brief account of the memories shared between His Majesty and the late Sarkin Zango, Alhaji Abubakar, as well as the respect and dedication the late chief demonstrated in serving Asanteman.

He commended the King for his generosity and described his contributions to national development initiatives, particularly in the areas of health, education, infrastructure, and conflict resolution, as countless. He further advised leaders to learn from His Majesty’s exemplary leadership, generosity, and commitment to the development of society.

In his concluding remarks, he sought Allah’s blessings, guidance, and protection for His Majesty.

May Allah bless the King and his dedicated servants, increase him in knowledge and wisdom, and grant him maximum protection to continue serving his Lord and Asanteman.

It is a tradition of the family to offer advice to the newlyweds after the wedding ceremony.

Members of the family from different places gathered at the residence of the newlyweds to offer their heartfelt advice and guidance on marriage.

During Faiza’s advice session, the family admonished her against the excessive use of mobile phones in the marital home, explaining its potential consequences on marriage. They urged her to limit her phone usage and dedicate much of her time and attention to her husband.

They further encouraged her to accord him the utmost respect as her husband, desist from interfering in his personal affairs, particularly his phone and private information, and respect and treat his family with humility. They also advised the couple to resolve their differences privately without involving their parents unnecessarily.

May Allah bless her new home, provide abundantly for them, and grant them maximum protection. We pray that this beautiful union becomes a source of joy, comfort, peace, and endless prosperity for them.

In a playful display of our traditional wedding customs before the commencement of the marriage ceremony, Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani, the unofficial husband whose marriage proposal to Faiza was rejected, humorously recounted the expenses he had incurred on her and expressed his displeasure at being denied what he believed was his entitlement.

The Deputy Regional Imam, Shk. Abass Umar Karara, drew from the Hadith to console him over his loss and advised him to consider his expenses as Sadaqah, trusting that Allah would reward him for his generosity.

The lighthearted moment added a beautiful touch of humour and tradition to the occasion.
