The Rotary Club of Kumasi Premier International, in partnership with HopeXchange Medical Centre and the KNUST Medical Student's Association, successfully organised a two-day Blood Donation Campaign aimed at supporting healthcare delivery and replenishing critical blood supplies for medical facilities.
The campaign was conducted across three strategic locations:
Day One – Thursday, 4th June 2026
Medical Village, Boadi Campus &
Courtyard of the Pharmacy Department, KNUST
Blood Collected: 99 Units
Day Two – Friday, 5th June 2026
GETFund Hostel, School of Medical Sciences (SMS), KATH
Blood Collected: 53 Units
Total Blood Collected: 152 Units
The initiative, which forms part of Rotary's commitment to saving lives and strengthening communities through its motto of Service Above Self, attracted an overwhelming response from students, healthcare professionals, community members, volunteers, and members of the public who generously donated blood to support patients in need.
Beyond replenishing blood stocks, the campaign also sought to raise awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and its vital role in healthcare delivery.
Through the collaborative efforts of Rotary members, the dedicated team from HopeXchange Medical Centre, and the hardworking students of the KNUST Medical Students' Association, the exercise was conducted efficiently, safely, and successfully at all locations.
The Rotary Club of Kumasi Premier International extends its heartfelt appreciation to all donors, volunteers, partners, sponsors, and stakeholders whose support contributed to the success of this life-saving initiative. Every unit of blood donated represents hope, compassion, and a second chance at life for patients facing medical emergencies and critical health conditions.
This successful collaboration demonstrates the power of partnership, community engagement, and service in addressing critical healthcare needs. It further reaffirms Rotary's unwavering commitment to creating a positive and lasting impact in our communities.
Together, we gave more than blood—we gave hope, life, and a brighter tomorrow.
