On World Heart Day Remember - Healthy hearts. Healthy brains. Fewer strokes.

stroke accounts for 1 in 3 deaths attributed to CVD each year and many of those deaths are an associated with cardiovascular risk factors that can be identified, treated and managed?

High blood pressure is associated with more than half of all strokes, while atrial fibrillation (AF) increases stroke risk five-fold. High cholesterol, diabetes and other cardiovascular conditions, including heart failure and coronary heart disease, also contribute to stroke risk.

Hypertension and AF can often remain symptomless and undiagnosed until a stroke occurs - making routine blood pressure checks, detection of irregular heart rhythms and access to treatment, critical components of global stroke prevention.

Screening, appropriate medication, regular monitoring could save your life from stroke.

Children’s Health Education
The outreach program did not leave the children behind. They were educated on proper self-care practices and engaged in interactive discussions on various health issues. The children had the opportunity to ask questions about topics such as personal hygiene, tooth decay, headaches, and constipation, and appropriate answers and guidance were provided to address their concerns.
Partner Contributions
Jabi Foundation complemented the outreach by providing free eye screening services, enabling participants to receive vision assessments and referrals for further eye care where necessary.

The Ghana Health Service participated by offering routine immunization services, including vaccination for children under five years of age and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination for children aged 9–14 years. Ghanaian Society of Cardiology

Update from Dadiesoaba, Asutifi South District - Ahafo Region

The outreach was aimed at improving access to preventive healthcare services, promoting healthy lifestyles, and increasing awareness of common non-communicable diseases.

Join us as we share our experience at the community.

Adult Health Screening As the lead organization for the community health screening, Spot Stroke Fast Foundation (SSFF) coordinated and delivered the core health screening activities. A dedicated team of healthcare professionals and volunteers provided health education on stroke prevention, hypertension, diabetes, and healthy lifestyle practices. SSFF also conducted:
- Blood pressure screening
- Blood glucose testing
- Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment
- Body composition analysis including visceral fat, skeletal muscle mass, and body age
- General medical consultations and counseling
