The president of the Zongo Forum, Mohammed Nurudeen Ali, was among a few privileged individuals welcomed into the inner chambers of the newly installed regent, where he extended his congratulations and goodwill.

He seized the opportunity to further visit many places, including the historical palace of the Sarkin Zango in Tamale, a significant place serving as the chieftaincy institution for Hausa settlers and other tribes under the auspices of the Ya-Na.

This historic visit reflects his commitment to strengthening mutual understanding, friendship, cooperation, and shared values between diverse backgrounds, as well as navigating through the historical landmarks of Dagbon.

🌍 INTERNATIONAL HAUSA DAY!

The story of the Hausa people is not confined to one territory. It is a story of movement, enterprise, cultural exchange, and the building of communities across Africa.

For generations, Hausa traders, scholars, craftsmen, and migrants have travelled across West Africa, establishing communities and creating connections between different peoples.

In Ghana, their presence became an important part of the country’s commercial and cultural history. In Asanteman, Hausa communities became part of the social and economic fabric of cities such as Kumasi, contributing to trade, craftsmanship, transportation, and community life.

Today, we celebrate a people whose history demonstrates that migration can build bridges between societies.

Hausa heritage is African heritage.

It is with great sadness that we convey the passing of Sheihu Ahmedi Bashasha from the Household of the late Imam Chiroma who served as the aide Ali Suraj.

Our heartfelt condolences to his family, Hon. Ali Suraj, colleagues and close relatives. may Allah gives them the strenthen in this bereavement period.

May his soul rest in Peace.

Earlier on Wednesday, During the Awukudae observation at the Manhyia Palace. The king of the Asante Kingdom Otumfou Osei Tutu received a special prayer by the family of the late Sarkin Zango Mallam Ali.

Alhaji Abdul Samed led, as they prayed for Allah to bestow upon him his endless blessings and ultimate protection.

On Wednesday, August 12 2026, The family of the late Sarkin Zango Mallam Ali I paid homage to His Majesty Otumfou Osei Tutu II, during the 6th Awukudae of the year at the Manhyia palace.

Otumfuo recalled the close relationship they shared, his remarkable service and respect. He urged the family to remain committed, united, peaceful and discipline.
