The Ghana Association of Tourism and Hospitality Students (GATHS) which was formerly known as GATS [Ghana Association of Tourism Students] is a National Association that houses and represents Ghanaian Tertiary Students of Tourism, Hospitality & their related programmes at the National Level. Launched on October 16th, 2016 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), the forma
tion of the association was initiated by the then leaders and executives of the Tourism and Hospitality departments in the various Tertiary institutions in the country, with the aim of bringing all Tourism and Hospitality Students Nationwide under one umbrella, to be able to further improve upon the status-quo of the Tourism and Hospitality industry/sectors in Ghana. GATHS operates under the auspices of the following Ministry and Institutions:
Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MoTAC), Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Ghana Tourism Federation (GHATOF) and other Public Private Partnership Entities in and across the boundaries of Ghana. The Organization-GATHS acts as a federation that comprises of several local associations of tourism and hospitality on various campuses across the country (Universities, Training Colleges etc...).
