On International Women’s Day, we are reminded of a simple but powerful truth: if we truly want to gain peace, prosperity, and justice, we must first give women what should never have been withheld—power, voice, and equal rights.

This year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” challenges us to move beyond words and commit to creating a world where women and girls have the opportunities, protection, and leadership space they deserve. Because when women rise, society rises with them.

Today, on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we celebrate the brilliant women who have paved the way in labs, universities, and field sites across the globe. Their remarkable contributions have shaped our understanding of the world and driven progress for all of humanity.

Yet, we also recognize that significant barriers remain. Science and gender equality must advance hand-in-hand to tackle our world's greatest challenges, from climate change to global health. This day is a powerful reminder to champion inclusivity, to encourage every young girl with a question, and to build a future where the scientific community reflects the diversity of the world it seeks to improve.

Here's to the women in science — past, present, and future. Your curiosity, resilience, and intellect light the path forward. Let's all commit to supporting, mentoring, and celebrating the next generation of girls in STEM.

🌟 Rewriting the script on what it means to be a man! 🤝

We were thrilled to host a dynamic and impactful one-day workshop on Positive Masculinity for selected men in the Kwadaso Municipality, in partnership with the Department of Gender. The energy was electric as we engaged in powerful conversations, broke down harmful stereotypes, and built a community committed to respect, empathy, and equality.

This initiative is a crucial part of the broader, UNFPA Ghana-funded programme to end Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), coordinated by the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council. Together, we're not just talking change—we're building it, one man at a time! 💪

We are committed to driving meaningful, grassroots change. We believe in empowering young men to be allies and champions for a safer, more equitable society.

Ready to collaborate? Let’s link up to break cycles and build futures! ✨

Over an intensive eight-week period, ProActif Global was proud to support the Ashanti Region Technical Support Unit of the Ghana AIDS Commission to engage 4,089 Youth Employment Agency, Ghana beneficiary trainees across Tepa, Nkenkenso, and Fumso under the Community Medical First Responder (National Ambulance Service) and Prison Office Assistant modules.

Through structured, peer-led sessions held every Saturday, young men and women were empowered with accurate, timely information on HIV prevention and control, as well as updates on the current state of the HIV epidemic in Ghana.

The engagements also addressed basic facts on CONSENT and POSITIVE MASCULINITY as critical pathways to preventing s*xual and gender-based violence (SGBV), alongside practical education on the 3 Cs of condom use—Correct, Consistent, and Continuous.

By challenging harmful myths and promoting respectful, responsible behaviors, these sessions strengthened the capacity of beneficiaries to make informed health and relationship decisions, reinforcing ProActif Global’s commitment to youth empowerment, public health education, and safer, more inclusive communities.

That’s a wrap on our campaign, but certainly not an end to the mission. HIV doesn’t pause for a new year—and neither does our commitment to fight it. Think of this not as a finish line, but as passing the baton… to ourselves, every single day. Let’s carry this energy forward, making awareness a lifestyle, not just a moment.

Our blueprint remains clear: silence fuels stigma, so let’s keep the dialogue louder than the judgment. Staying on your meds (ART) is your power—consistency is key. Armor up with knowledge on PrEP/PEP, make consent non-negotiable in every encounter, and stand firm against s*xual and gender-based violence. This is our continuous playlist for a healthier, safer life.

So here’s to the next chapter—one built on smart choices, solidarity, and unwavering voice. The campaign banner may come down, but our resolve only grows stronger. Let’s keep protecting our peace, supporting our peers, and shaping a future free from fear.

Aluta Continua!

Did you know that HIV is still a major public health concern, with over 1.3 million new infections recorded globally each year, yet many of these infections are preventable with the right information and timely action? Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) can reduce the risk of acquiring HIV by up to 99% when taken consistently, while Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) can prevent HIV infection if started within 72 hours after possible exposure. Knowledge of these proven prevention tools is not optional—it is life-saving.

At AfriYan Ghana, we believe that ending HIV begins with informed choices, accessible services, and stigma-free conversations. Whether you are young, s*xually active, in a relationship, or simply planning ahead, PrEP and PEP give you power, protection, and peace of mind. The question is not whether these options work—the question is, are you PrEPared?

Did you know that in Sub-Saharan Africa, close to two-thirds of new HIV infections occur within stable, married, or cohabiting couples? Shockingly, about half of these are acquired from a partner who unknowingly brought the virus home from an external source. Living together doesn't make you "immune"—it makes transparency and regular testing your most vital relationship goal.

This Boxing Day, we are challenging every young person in Ghana to unbox the one thing we often keep hidden: our status. Transparency is the only way to halt the spread of HIV in our generation. It takes courage to have the conversation, but it takes even more strength to protect the person you claim to love. Don’t let the festivities end in regret.

By choosing protection and disclosure today, you are gifting yourself and your partner the peace of mind that no physical present can buy. Let’s make this the safest Boxing Day yet.

A "Detty December" doesn’t mean a "No-Consent" December. 🚫

While we celebrate the festivities, let’s keep the energy safe. Forced s*x is never "part of the fun"—it is R**E. Whether it’s a stranger at a party or a relative behind closed doors, silence is no longer an option.

With HIV infections on the rise in Ghana, protecting yourself means more than just being careful—it means respecting boundaries and saying NO to s*xual violence.

📍 Don't stay silent. If you or someone you know is affected, call The Orange Support Centre at 0800111222.
