๐Ÿ—“๏ธ From August 3โ€“5, 2026, the Pan-African Youth Parliament for Democracy will bring together young leaders from across the continent and its diasporas in Accra, Ghana, for a historic first edition.

โ„น๏ธ Designed as a space for dialogue, deliberation, and co-construction, this Parliament asks one essential question:

How do we build democracies that recognize young people as a force for proposal, decision, and transformation?

Why Ghana?
๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ญ The choice of Ghana is no coincidence: the first sub-Saharan African country to gain independence, the cradle of Pan-Africanism under Kwame Nkrumah, Accra today stands as one of the continent's most dynamic hubs for democratic innovation.

Three days to:
๐Ÿ”ทReclaim the legacy of Pan-Africanism
๐Ÿค Envision a democracy of care and connection
๐Ÿ”ทUnlock the power of intergenerational transmission

A brighter future begins with a better learning environment.

AFES-Ghana, together with , visited Ada Kyeremanten School in Koforidua as the first step in a shared vision to renovate the schoolโ€™s infrastructure and create a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.

This partnership reflects our commitment to investing in young people through quality education. We are excited about what lies ahead and believe this collaboration will create lasting impact, giving more children and youth the opportunity to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

Together, weโ€™re building stronger communitiesโ€”one classroom at a time.

AFES-Ghana was proud to join and his team of French volunteers at Okanta Presbyterian School, where renovation works have officially commenced. Our team were delighted to lend a helping hand as painting of the school blocks got underway, contributing to the creation of a brighter, safer, and more welcoming learning environment for children.

We are grateful to support this meaningful initiative and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the lives of young learners. Together, through collaboration and community service, we are helping build spaces where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.

6th African Youth SDGs Summit 2026 โ€” A Recap

From 23rdโ€“25th June 2026, young leaders, innovators, policymakers, and civil society actors from across Africa gathered at the Ohene Konadu Auditorium, UPSA, Accra, Ghana, under the theme โ€œReimagining Africa through Youth-Driven Solutions.โ€

The AFES-Ghana proudly represented at the continental level through our volunteerโ€” Esther Antwi โ€” ensuring grassroots youth voices were heard.

Key conversations spanned:
AI & Human Rights โ€” building ethical frameworks for responsible tech
Governance & Accountability โ€” youth demanding real influence, not symbolic seats
Green Economy & Circular Development โ€” turning sustainability into jobs
Peace & Security โ€” linking youth employment to social cohesion

Delegates also explored major opportunities: the UN Volunteer Programme, UNDPโ€™s 54 new University Innovation Pods across Africa, and funding avenues like the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund.

5 big lessons from the summit: innovation must solve real problems, leadership is service, youth must be bold, partnerships create lasting impact, and accountability drives development.

The summitโ€™s message was clear: Innovate. Lead. Transform. Africaโ€™s future belongs to bold, accountable, service-driven young leaders ready to turn ideas into lasting impact.

We return with stronger networks, sharper knowledge, and renewed commitment to driving the SDGs forward in our communities.

Through the Kofkro Project, AFES-Ghana successfully championed the development of the Koforidua Youth Manifesto, which has now been integrated into the New Juaben South Municipal Medium-Term Development Plan. This milestone reflects the power of collaborative advocacy in shaping policies that respond to the aspirations of young people.

In recognition of this contribution, AFES-Ghana has been appointed to the Municipal Monitoring and Evaluation Team, strengthening our role in promoting accountability and ensuring that development commitments translate into real impact for communities.

As part of this journey, we joined the Municipal Assembly and key stakeholders to commission newly completed classroom blocks, a borehole at the Fire Service Department, and the redeveloped Zongo Community Market projects that demonstrate the tangible outcomes of inclusive planning and citizen engagement.

At AFES-Ghana, we remain committed to empowering communities, amplifying youth voices, and driving sustainable local development. Together, weโ€™re not just envisioning change weโ€™re helping make it happen.
