Are you in ? Then join STAR-Ghana Foundation next week at the “Youth ” where young people, policymakers, civil society organisations, traditional leaders and private sector will gather to dialogue, share experiences, and develop practical solutions for inclusive and development.

This Summit isn’t just a dialogue — it’s a space for brokering on youth development.

We’ll hold interactive sessions and on youth leadership, entrepreneurship, youth mental health and wellbeing, and innovation.

We also want to showcase youth and — the innovative ways young people are contributing to Ghana’s progress.

It’s all about empowering young people to create the municipality they want.

Through our Initiative, in collaboration with Fondation Botnar, we mobilise young people to engage constructively and co-create with their leaders, a municipality where young people can thrive.

New Juaben South Youth Parliament - Awareness Campaign and Health Screening

The Youth Parliament outdoors their project and mandates, to the general public last Saturday. This was aimed towards giving everyone in the community an opportunity to witness firsthand what the Youth Parliament represents.

In Koforidua, Ghana, young people are proving that participation means more than just being heard; it means shaping real outcomes.

Through OurKoforidua, coordinated by STAR-Ghana Foundation , young people are working with city leaders to co-create solutions on issues that matter most: access to services, economic opportunities, digital literacy, and even peace-building during elections.

Priscilla Adu-Amankwah, a young leader in the initiative, highlights why this matters: too often, youth voices are invited in but not acted upon. OurKoforidua shows what happens when youth participation becomes a driver of change at the city level.

In her latest blog, our CEO Andrea Studer reflects on why rights-based youth participation is essential to tackling today’s global challenges and how local initiatives, like OurKoforidua, are leading the way.

The New Juaben South Youth Parliament extends heartfelt congratulations to all Ghanaians on the occasion of our 68th Independence Day. On this day in 1957, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana became the first sub-Saharan African nation to attain independence, inspiring a continent-wide movement toward self-determination. As we commemorate this historic milestone, we honor the sacrifices of our forebears and reaffirm our commitment to the principles of freedom, unity, and progress that define our nation. May this Independence Day inspire us all to contribute positively to Ghana's continued democracy, development and prosperity.
