Feminine STAR Africa Feminine Star Africa is a non-profit organisation that focuses on Women Empowerment and Education.

ABOUT FEMININE STAR AFRICA
Feminine Star Africa is born out of passion for women and children who are a vulnerable group. Our aim is to empower women and girls to become self- reliant by equipping them with skills, knowledge and a platform that promotes self-sustenance. Feminine Star Africa provides social interventions through education, skills training, mentoring, micro business and scholarships for women and girls to attain their fullest potentials. We stands for integrity to impact the lives of people making them resourceful through creativity and innovation for financial self-sufficiency. AIMS / OBJECTIVES
• To empower women to be self-reliant through skills and business management training.
• To reduce the high rate of poverty among women by creating jobs for them.
• To prevent rural urban migration among women.
• To champion the course of reducing teenage pregnancy among girls.
• To encourage self-reliance and independence among women.
• To identify and turn the talents of women into jobs
• To fight for the rights of children (especially girls) and women who are being abused physically, sexually, emotionally etc.
• To identify and solve educational problems that women face. VISION

Our vision is to support women and children to realise their full potentials through creativity and innovation to bring about change and development to every community. TARGET GROUP
Feminine Star Africa has as its target as children and women of all ages, which includes but not limited to the following:
- Girls or women who have dropped out of school
- Women without any form of formal education
- Teenage mothers
- Unemployed women
- Women and children who are suffering physical, sexual or psychological abuse

Knowing the Law: Protecting Rights and Seeking Justice

Senior State Attorney, from the Attorney-General's Department, Hon Andrew Adugu, enlightened our audience about the legal perspective of domestic and partner abuse.

The symposium highlighted the importance of understanding the rights and protections available to survivors of domestic and partner abuse.

For women and girls experiencing violence, knowing where to turn and understanding available legal remedies can be an important step towards safety and justice.

Awareness must lead to action, and action must be supported by systems that protect survivors.

Protecting Survivors, Strengthening the Response.

The contribution from the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit brought an important perspective to the symposium: addressing domestic violence requires more than awareness. It requires effective reporting systems, survivor-centred support and strong collaboration between communities and institutions.

Feminine Star Africa's long-standing engagement with DOVVSU reflects our commitment to strengthening the systems that protect women and children. Every survivor deserves to be heard, protected and treated with dignity.

The Regional Director of the Department of Gender presented on; Gender Equality Starts With Community Action.

She brought an important institutional perspective to the conversation around women's empowerment, equality and protection.

Ending violence against women requires all of us to challenge harmful attitudes, strengthen support systems and create environments where women and girls can participate fully and safely in society.
Gender equality is not just a conversation. It is a responsibility we must act on.

Creating Safe Spaces for Girls to Learn and Thrive

The head mistress of OLA SHS, the host school opened the presentations for our Women First Symposium with an important reminder: schools are not only places of academic learning, but also spaces where young girls can develop confidence, leadership and the courage to shape their futures.

The participation of students made the symposium especially meaningful, placing young men and women at the centre of conversations about safety, opportunity and empowerment.

Opening the Conversation: Why We Must Act

The 2026 Women First Symposium opened with a powerful call to move conversations about women’s safety and empowerment from awareness to action.

As Forum Coordinator, Bismark Tay set the tone for a day focused on ending the cycle of violence, strengthening communities and creating practical pathways for women and girls to thrive. He also welcomed our honourable dignitaries.

His leadership and coordination helped bring together local and international voices around one shared vision: safer communities and a better future for women and girls. We acknowledge all the dignitaries at the event, thank you for your presence, contributions and support.

Think. Move. Lead. Building Confidence Through Football

What a powerful way to begin our Women First Symposium.

On the morning of the symposium, girls from OLA SHS in Ho took part in a special soccer clinic led by international coach Michael "Coach Stewart" Stewart.

Through engaging drills focused on the principles of "Think and Move," the girls were encouraged to develop more than football skills. They were challenged to think strategically, communicate, work as a team, make decisions and step forward as leaders.

The message was clear: sport can be a powerful tool for building confidence, discipline, teamwork and leadership in young people.

Coach Stewart also donated footballs, jerseys, boots and other sporting equipment to selected schools, supporting young people to develop their talents and pursue their potential.

We are grateful to Coach Stewart for sharing his expertise and reminding us that when we equip young people with the right skills, mindset and opportunities, we are investing in the leaders and changemakers of tomorrow. Thanks to everyone whose donation supported raising these items and sharing them with school who desperately needed them.

Discovering the Beauty and Wonders of the Volta Region!

Our Women First Symposium team continued their Ghanaian cultural experience with a memorable tour of some of the Volta Region's most beautiful natural and cultural attractions.

From the breathtaking Wli Waterfalls, the highest waterfall in Ghana, to the unique Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary and Cultural Village, our guests had the opportunity to experience the natural beauty, wildlife and rich cultural heritage of the Volta Region.

These experiences are an important part of cultural immersion, creating opportunities to connect, learn and appreciate the incredible diversity and beauty of Ghana.

We are grateful for these beautiful memories and for the opportunity to share a little more of Ghana with our international partners and friends.

Ghana is more than a destination. It is a story, a culture, a people and a feeling that stays with you.

She has the Dream. Let's Help Her Reach It.

Hello family and friends, its that time of year again!

Meet Hozi Michaella Morkporkpor, a 22-year-old young woman who refused to give up on her dream of becoming a nurse.

After completing Senior High School in 2023, financial challenges kept Hozi at home for some time. But she continued to hope, pray and believe that her opportunity would come. Today, that opportunity has arrived. Hozi has gained admission to study Nursing at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

Her dream is to become a compassionate nurse, serve her community and one day support other young people facing challenges like hers.
But she needs our help to take this next step.
At Feminine Star Africa, we believe that no young woman should have to abandon her education simply because she cannot afford it. Will you help us support Hozi's educational journey?
